2018 Lexus LC 500 Video, First Look

Lexus has introduced a new flagship coupe, packing 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque.

Based on the LF-LC concept that debuted in 2012, the production LC 500 has been a long time coming and the Japanese automaker has done a fine job retaining the concept’s attractive bodylines. Built on a brand new architecture from Lexus called the premium rear-wheel-drive luxury platform, the model focuses on enhanced dynamics and performance and at the very least, it looks the part. The 5.0-liter V8 under the hood is nothing new, being used currently in both the RC F and GS F models. Matched to a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Lexus LC 500 will go zero-to-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

With the LC 500 powered by a 5.0-liter V8, that leaves room in the model’s lineup for a hotter, more powerful LC F. Rumor has it that Lexus is looking at a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, giving the Japanese automaker a formidable entry in the high-end sports car segment.
