BMW is teasing the new Alpina B7 sports sedan.
Considering the German automaker doesn’t offer an M7 model, the Alpina B7 is as close as anyone can get to a high-performance 7 Series straight from the factory.
AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers have caught the Alpina B7 testing in the past, and it remains camouflaged for the teaser video. We are able to make out its more aggressive body styling, with a prominent front lip spoiler attached to the new 7 Series face. Expect new side skirts and a modified rear end with a trunk spoiler when the model finally debuts.
While we can’t see all the details of the new Alpina B7’s exterior, we do get to hear its throaty exhaust note. The model will more than likely be powered by the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine currently used in the 7 Series, just like B7 models in the past. It will have plenty more performance than the 445 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque the 750i has to offer.
And considering the current 750i xDrive goes zero-to-62 mph in 4.3 seconds compared to the current B7’s 4.6 seconds, the new model couldn’t come soon enough.
