Volkswagen is heading to the 2016 Detroit Auto Show with its new Tiguan compact crossover.
Although the new Volkswagen Tiguan made its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, this will be the first time the German automaker has introduced the model in the U.S. Also expected is a new variant of the Tiguan GTE plug-in hybrid that will be more off-road capable.
Given Volkswagen’s recent diesel scandal, expect the German automaker to focus on electrified vehicles at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. The company’s CEO, Matthias Muller, won’t be present either since he will be in Washington, D.C. to handle the dieselgate scandal.
