Honda plans to show a Civic Hatchback Prototype at the upcoming 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March.
Honda says that the car previews the exterior design of the all-new hatchback model, which will launch in Europe in early 2017. The car will be built in the U.K., where it will be shipped to global markets including the U.S.
No other details were offered, but it is safe to assume that the new Civic hatch will be offered with the same 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine lineup that is available with the sedan and coupe. We can also see from the photo that the hatchback may be fit with a dual exhaust, exiting at the center of the car, though it may just be for the prototype model.
The Japanese brand will also show off the Euro-spec Honda NSX, which will go on sale in the U.K. this year, along with the new Honda Clarity fuel cell and a Honda Jazz concept.
