Sadly, Kia Optima Sportswagon is for European Market Only

The Kia Optima Sportswagon has been officially unveiled ahead of its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The Korean automaker has shown off its first-ever D-segment tourer, which will go on sale across Europe in the fourth quarter of 2016. The Kia Optima Sportswagon is inspired by the Sportspace Concept that debuted at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and will be available with a choice of gasoline and diesel powertrains. Although Kia didn’t get into specifics on engine sizes or performance figures, it did say that there will be a high-performance GT model in the lineup. We expect details to be announced at the Geneva Motor Show in early March.

What Kia did reveal is that the Optima Sportswagon will boast a 553-liter cargo capacity along with versatile 40:20:40 split-fold rear seats. The cabin will also have a new infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

More sweet treats we don’t get … Hey, America! Quit buying so many crossovers and start getting wagons so automakers will bring more of them here!
