The Fast and Furious franchise will get us racing to movie theatres three more times and the dates for each film’s debut have been released.
Actor Vin Diesel posted the information on Instagram, confirming the next film, Fast 8, will hit the big screen on April 8, 2017, followed by the next two movies on April 9, 2019 and April 10, 2021.
Furious 7 became the fastest movie to ever gross $1 billion worldwide, making the money in just 17 days. Some of its success can be attributed to the untimely death of actor Paul Walker in a car accident. The movie was made as a dedication to him and received plenty of media attention. Cody Walker, Paul’s younger brother, appeared in the movie to complete some scenes and is rumored to also star in Fast 8.
Fast 8 is said to take in place in New York City and will be directed by F. Gary Gray.
Diesel has previously confirmed that the upcoming trilogy will be the end of the franchise and this new post, reading “two decades, 10 films, one saga,” also confirms that.
