Toyota is celebrating the Corolla’s 50th anniversary in style.

The Japanese automaker kicked off the Corolla 50th Anniversary campaign, a year-long celebration to showcase how the Corolla has powered more memories, milestones and moments than any car in the world. To help with the campaign are actresses Gina Rodriguez and Hannah Simone as well as the 50th Anniversary Special Edition Corolla with unique features. As the world’s best-selling car of all time, the Toyota Corolla also received a refresh for the 2017 model year.

Standard features on the refreshed 2017 Toyota Corolla include backup camera, bi-LED headlights on L and LE grades, complex-LED standard on SE, XSE and XLE models as well as a redesigned, upgraded interior that has audio enhancements focused on comfort and convenience. The more aggressive front grille and two new exterior colors give the Corolla a modern look. All models can also be had with Toyota Safety Sense-P, a suite of safety technologies like pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure warning with steering assist and automatic high beams.

“My used 4th generation Corolla 1600 GT was like a best friend to me,” said Akio Toyoda, president and CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation. “I shared my youth with it! That car showed me the joy of driving. It represented freedom, fun and first forays in the business world,” Toyoda said. “Not only did my Corolla influence me and my own path, but this vehicle — supported by fans and customers — helped transform Toyota as a company around the world.”

Is this a joke? What kind of design is that?

  • I think Toyota is trying to lower your insurance rates. With the refreshed front clip, it will no longer be possible to tell if your Corolla has been in a low-speed collision.

Hopefully, the author made a typo mistake because SE, XLE, and XSE are Camry trims not Corolla.

I think this is the best looking Corolla ever. I like the fact that his car has standard LED headlights which is cool.
