Fast and Furious star Michelle Rodriguez is out to prove the Jaguar F-Type SVR is in fact the automaker’s fastest production series car to date.
Rodriguez recently teamed up with the British automaker by hopping into the driver’s seat of the new Jaguar F-Type SVR in the Nevada desert. The actress pushed the car to its top speed, with the speedometer reaching 201 mph, which is a personal top speed for Rodriguez as well.
The Jaguar F-Type SVR made its official debut earlier this year at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, sporting a $126,945 price tag for the coupe and $129,795 for the convertible. Powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine, the F-Type SVR has an impressive 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque and is capable of hitting 60 mph from a standstill in 3.5 seconds. Funny enough, Jaguar lists the F-Type SVR’s top speed at 200 mph.
“Driving this car was insane! I’ve now broken my personal speed record in the beautiful Jaguar F-Type SVR,” said Rodriguez. “Reaching 201 mph felt amazing, the car drove really smoothly, all my corrections were minimal, I was super focused, and it really reacted in all the right ways. I don’t think I’d ever go this fast without a professional driver seated next to me, but oh man, it was an incredible feeling.”
