Porsche Just Gave All Its Employees a $10k Bonus

Porsche is awarding its employees after having its most successful year in history.

The German automaker revealed that each employee is receiving a voluntary bonus of 8,911 euros ($9,954) with 8,211 euros paid based on the company’s positive results during the past financial year and 700 euros available as a special contribution to the Porsche VarioRente pension scheme or to individual retirement provisions. The special bonus will be paid out to 15,600 employees of Porsche AG and will be adapted to their individual working hours and length of service as of last year.

Last year, the company saw its deliveries jump by 19 percent to 225,121 vehicles. Revenue rose to just under 21.5 billion euros ($24 billion). The automaker also saw a nine-percent growth in employees and saw the biggest leap in sales in Europe, delivering 75,354 units in 2015 compared to 60,794 in 2014.

“The bonus is the justly deserved reward for the great commitment shown by our employees,” said Oliver Blume, chairman of the executive board of Porsche AG. “My special thanks go out to them, because their knowledge and their dedication have contributed to our achieving such an exceptional result in what is by no means an easy environment.”
