Porsche Suspends Relationship with Tennis Star Maria Sharapova

Porsche has suspended its relationship with tennis star Maria Sharapova.

Sharapova recently announced that she failed a drug test in January and as a result, will no longer be an ambassador for Porsche. Other sponsors including Tag Heuer and Nike have also suspended their ties with Sharapova in light of the news.

“We regret the news about Maria Sharapova,” the German automaker said in a statement. “Until more details are known and we can analyse the situation, we have decided to suspend planned activities.”

Sharapova tested positive for Meldonium at the Australian Open and is provisionally banned from tennis for the time being. The substance was added to the banned list this year and Sharapova claims she took it to recover from her numerous back injuries.

    i remember 10 years ago in 2006 when she won the US Open; she was much smaller.
    But shortly after; she started gaining muscle mass, especially in the arms and legs.
