Savari and Autotalks have partnered to provide V2X solutions for U.S. connected vehicle pilots in smart cities.
Both companies are leaders in Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication technology and are partnering to provide a full suite of V2X communication solutions for U.S. smart cities like New York City and Tampa, Florida, as well as other smart transportation projects like the efficient and save movement of freight through the I-80 east-west corridor in Wyoming. All three of these pilot sites are part of the Connected Vehicle Pilot Deployment Program initiatives sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The Connected Vehicle Pilot Deployment Program was launched to address the needs of communities that are experiencing rapid growth on their transportation infrastructure over the next few decades. The goal of the program is to test and deploy connected technologies in physical, real-world environments.
Through the partnership, Savari and Autotalks will provide the initial three sites with access to a wide range of proven, field-tested V2X communication technologies. Savari is also an active participant in major public U.S. smart city testbeds and has over 391,000 hours of public testing, covering more than 14.9-million miles.
Autotalks field-proven chipset is deployed worldwide in multiple pilots and the company provides OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers with comprehensive V2X chipsets that boast advanced security features that ensure high performance and reliable communication between vehicles and road infrastructure.
“As the move to fully connected vehicles and intelligent city infrastructure becomes a reality, there is a rising need for a secure, reliable V2X communications solution that can scale. Autotalks is known for its strong security background and is a perfect complement to Savari’s V2X software solutions. We look forward to working closely with Autotalks to deliver these reliable, secure solutions to the cities and state DOTs in the USDOT CV Pilots,” said Ravi Puvvala, CEO, Savari.
