The Jim Click Ford Performance Collection is crossing the auction block.
The collection will be sold at an upcoming RM Auctions event at Monterey and includes a 1966 Ford GT40, 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Trans Am, 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Trans Am, two 1964 Shelby 289 Cobras and a 1966 Shelby GT350. All the vehicles are currently owned by Jim Click and some of these are true masterpieces from the American automaker. For example, the 1966 Ford GT40 is one of the 31 original MK1 GT40s sporting chassis number P/1061 and is estimated to fetch between $3.75 to $4.25 million. Click purchased it in 1992 after it served as one of seven GT40s Ford used for promotional duties.

Then there’s the 1964 Shelby 289 “Competition” Cobra that is expected to sell for $2.2 to $2.6 million. According to Click, it’s one of the most successful racing Cobras in the world thanks to Don Roberts who campaigned it in several motorsports events, garnering wins until he sold it in 1969. It became part of Click’s collection in 2006 and he went back to none other than Roberts to race and maintain the classic sports car.
