Bentley Just Made Fly Fishing Much More Luxurious

1

The Bentley Bentayga has a lot of accolades, but its latest is a little different. The British automaker has created a variant it calls the ultimate car for fly fishing enthusiasts.

The luxury SUV is already the world’s fastest and most expensive, and now there’s the Bentley Fly Fishing by Mulliner, hand-crafted by the British automaker’s bespoke couchbuilding division.

Mulliner has taken the SUV and outfitted it with all the equipment needed for a successful day on the river, with four rods stored in special tubes trimmed in Saddle leather with Linen cross-stiching, while located on the underside of the parcel shelf. At the heart of the Bentley Bentayga Fly Fishing are three individual, Saddle-leather-trimmed units: a master tackle station, a refreshment case and a waterproof wader-stowage trunk.

Both the master tackle station and refreshment case sit on a sliding tray for easy access and inside is a special Burr Walnut veneered drawer that contains a fly-tying vice and tools, along with a selection of cotton, hooks and feathers. Underneath are four machined-from-solid aluminum reel cases trimmed in Saddle leather with a Linen cross-stitching. The inside of the refreshment case has also been trimmed in Linen leather and contains up to three metal flasks and a set of Mulliner fine-china tableware and a separate food storage compartment.

Discretely integrated into the rear of the Bentayga are a waterproof trunk floor and rear-sill-protection covers, along with an electronic dehumidifier unit to make sure the area stays fresh and dry. And for the first time with Bentayga, Mulliner is offering “Welcome Lights” that are built into the underside of the doors, projecting the Bentley and Mulliner logos on the ground when the doors are opened. Customers can also special order their own personal logo or graphic.

“The Bentayga Fly Fishing car showcases the breadth and level of detail a customer can expect from Mulliner,” said Geoff Dowding, director of Mulliner. “This is an individual bespoke solution and our skilled craftspeople can design elegant and exquisitely executed bespoke solutions to complement any customer lifestyle or hobby. Fly fishing is a sport that requires a variety of equipment and clothing, so it was essential  to package the rods, reels, waders, boots and fly-tying station into the car in a luxurious, accessible and elegant way – and the end result is truly extraordinary.”
