General Motors is calling back 307,000 older Chevy Impalas to fix an issue with the airbags.
In the affected cars, the front passenger seat fram can rub against certain electrical wires, causing the airbag fuse to short circuit. This will render the passenger airbag useless in a collision.
The 2009 and 2010 Impala are affected by the issue, with 209,000 of the affected population in the United States. In total, two injuries have been linked to the defect.
Dealers will add anti-abrasion tape to the wires to prevent damage.
