Land Rover is preparing its own BMW X6 fighter.
Now that Mercedes-Benz has joined the SUV coupe segment with the GLE Coupe, Land Rover is next with the Range Rover Sport Coupe. Spy photographers caught the prototype testing at and near the Nurburgring and although it is covered with camouflage, you can see a sloping rear roofline and a rear window with a coupe-style design.
The interior to the Range Rover Sport Coupe is expected to mirror what will debut in the facelifted Range Rover Sport, but expect the coupe model’s styling to be different, especially up front.
Powering the Range Rover Sport Coupe will be a wide range of engines, starting with the British automaker’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder from the Ingenium family. Topping the range will likely be a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine in the high-performance SVR variant. At least in Europe, the model will offer diesel powertrains.
Look for the Range Rover Sport Coupe to make its debut in the second half of next year.
