2017 Honda Civic Hatchback Makes an Early Appearance on the Web

Photos of the 2017 Honda Civic hatchback have surfaced.

Making its debut in concept form earlier this year at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the production 2017 Honda Civic hatchback is a bit toned down as expected. Luckily there aren’t any major design changes to the exterior, and we can expect the Si and Type R models to get more aggressive, similar to the concept.

It appears that these particular units are heading to the U.S. as the photos were taken as the Honda Civic hatchbacks were being loaded onto a cargo ship in the U.K.

Honda enthusiasts will have to sit tight and wait until the 2016 Paris Motor Show in late September to see what the next-generation Civic Type R will bring to the table. Rumor has it that it will boast around 340 horsepower and don’t be surprised if Honda is working hard to reclaim its front-wheel-drive title around the Nurburgring now that Volkswagen has taken it away.

It looks much better than I thought it would. I thought they would cheap out and botch the job, but it seems Honda is serious about the Civic again.

I would definitely buy the hatch over the sedan, and maybe even instead of the coupe because you can still get the turbo, but in a more practical package.

Now, if they put the turbo engine in the HR-V, I just might choose that over anything else.
