Citroen will debut a funky wagon concept called the CXperience Concept at the Paris Motor Show in September.
The French have always been known for their innovative automotive designs and no automaker has been as experimental as the Citroen brand – for better or for worse.
The main point of the CXperience Concept is to showcase the brand’s upmarket aspirations, with a focus on passenger comfort, while staying true to its motto “Be Different, Feel Good.” The concept comes in the form of a wagon but with dimensions that give it a coupe-like feel. It rides low and wide, featuring design cues such as the rear concave window to make it distinct.
The signature element of this concept, though, is the entertainment system – with each seat fitted with speakers and microphones. That’s so that passengers can better communicate with each other, as their speech is amplified by the sound system. Passengers can also opt to sit comfortably in their own sound bubble and listen to whatever music they please without disturbing other passengers.
Inside the cabin, there’s a walnut wood trim contrasted with a bright yellow upholstery. The concept promises a comfortable ride given the hydraulic suspension system, and the hybrid plug-in system, with a total output of around 300 hp, will be sure to deliver good fuel economy. Few other specifics were provided except that the car will feature a 13 kw/h battery and have an zero-emissions range of up to 37 miles (60 km).
The Citroen CXperience Concept will debut on Thursday, September 29 at the Paris Motor Show. AutoGuide.com will be there live covering reveals from the show floor, so stay tuned.
