2017 Genesis G90 Priced from $69,050

Hyundai’s new luxury brand Genesis has announced pricing for its flagship model, the G90.

It will sell for a base price of $69,050, netting you a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine sending 365 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. Bumping up to an all-wheel drive model will cost $71,550 if you stick with the V6.

Opting for the G90’s available 5.0-liter V8 boosts the price up to $70,650 with rear-wheel drive while an all-wheel drive model with the V8 will go for $73,150. The 5.0-liter makes 420 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque.

Plenty of features come standard with the G90 including automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, pre-safety seat belts, adaptive cruise control, multi-view front and rear cameras and parking sensors all around.

Besides packing plenty of features, Genesis is also promoting its “consumer-centric programs as part of the Genesis Experience.” This includes three years of complimentary access to such services as SiriusXM Travel Link, a service valet, connected services, annual map updates and more.

“The Genesis G90 not only presents a compelling product offering, but also a unique ownership experience to create value for our customers,” said Erwin Raphael, general manager of Genesis in the U.S. market. “The G90 embodies all the hallmarks of a modern luxury vehicle with timeless design, performance engineering and innovative technology, while offering owners an unprecedented level of choice, convenience and customer care.”

The 2017 Genesis G90 will be in dealers by the end of September.

I realize that’s a lot less than its supposed competitors. For me, I’d rather go with a CT6.

There is no way on God’s green earth, that I would spend $70,000 on a freaking Hyundai!!

I’ve owned a Cadillac, a Lincoln, a 280SEL and 450SEL Mercedes and a host of others. I bought a 2011 Genesis 4.7-V8 loaded for my new wife. (I’m 67 and my 2nd wife died) Anyway she’s a Chevy “girl’ (58) and wasn’t sure a “foreign car” would make her happy….. especially since her last car was a Camaro. Performance wise she grudgingly admits that the Genesis is faster….. brakes harder…. corners better and is FAR quieter than her Camaro ever was. City driving is between 20 and 22 mpg and highway driving (with a trunk full of luggage and the A/C going) is a solid 28 mpg. This was my first venture into the land of “Hyundai” but likely not the last. It has been 100% bulletproof so far requiring nothing but routine maintenance and a set of tires. The G90 is already on my radar screen and the wife approves. 🙂
