So far, 2016 has been a fantastic year for racing video games, but it looks like next year might be even better.
Here are the Top 4 coolest racing games coming out in 2017.
1. Gran Turismo Sport
Gran Turismo Sport is 13th installment in the legendary racing simulator series that focuses heavily on realism. The game uses real tracks from across the globe and the graphics in this Sony game look photo-realistic. The game will feature three main modes: campaign mode, sport mode, and arcade mode, and will feature online and offline functionality. Gran Turismo Sport is set to release on the PS4 sometime in 2017, but the official release date has not been announced. It surely looks to be a game perfect for car enthusiasts and casual gamers alike.
2. Forza Motorsport 7
The newest installment in the widely successful Forza series will likely release sometime next year. If past installments can tell you anything, this game is going to be awesome. Hyper-realistic graphics and physics with hundreds of cars are a certainty. With Forza Horizon 3 having just been released, Turn 10 Studios will be pretty busy for the foreseeable future, and it has been pretty tight-lipped about Forza 7, but it is definitely a game to get excited about.
3. Next Car Game: Wreckfest
Next Car Game: Wreckfest is an upcoming demolition derby-style racing game developed by Bugbear Entertainment. This arcade-style game seems to focus on vehicular combat mixed with track racing, with realistic car damage thrown in. The coolest looking feature shown so far is the soft-body damage modeling, which enables location-specific damage to the vehicle. For example, if you crash into something head on with the front driver-side near the A-pillar, the wheel might not work and the damage will affect handling. The game is set to release sometime in 2017 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
4. Need For Speed 2017
Need For Speed 2017 will be the latest installment in this long-running arcade-style racing game. Need For Speed focuses heavily on street racing and the tuner scene, with dozens of fully customizable tuner cars. Over-the-top street races, high-speed police chases, huge nitrous boosts and ridiculous drifts are surely going to make for a good time in this installment.
