The newest Lamborghini has been on a whirlwind trip debuting at a series of private parties around the world.

Although the 2018 Lamborghini Aventador S debuted in December, it recently stole the spotlight at Lamborghini Uptown Toronto, where a small group of prospective customers and media were able to see the V12 supercar for the first time. Lamborghini Uptown Toronto, also known as Grand Touring Automobiles, is the only official dealership for the prestigious Italian brand in Ontario.

The Aventador S is the next-generation model of the successful supercar, and besides a revised new look that is somehow even more aggressive than the last one, the Lamborghini now has all the latest technology and a renewed focus on aerodynamics.

“The technology is incredible,” said Doug Brown, general manager of Automobil Lamborghini Canada, referring to the Aventador S’s new four-wheel steering system. “This is the first time this system has been used in a production Lamborghini.” The system provides better stability at high speeds and increased maneuverability at low speeds. The suspension and all driving modes have been recalibrated to work seamlessly with the new four-wheel steering, and a new customizable driving mode called Ego has been added.

The monstrous naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 has also been tweaked for higher output, gaining a 40-horsepower increase over the previous Aventador for a total of 740 hp and 509 pound-feet of torque. The engine also gains a higher redline, a better torque curve, and stop/start and cylinder deactivation for better fuel economy.

With its lightning quick seven-speed transmission getting power to all four wheels, the Aventador S can accelerate from zero to 62 mph (zero t0 100 km/h) in just 2.9 seconds on to a top speed of 219 mph (350 km). Carbon ceramic brakes are standard. Pricing for the Aventador S starts at $421,350 ($463,775 in Canada).

The Lamborghini Aventador S will also be at the Geneva Motor Show in March, but Brown confirmed that the Huracan Performante will be the brand’s big debut at the show, although some prospective owners and Lamborghini faithful have already been given a sneak peek. Of course, he couldn’t comment on whether the rumors of the high-performance Huracan setting a new Nurburgring lap record are true, but he did promise that the car will be spectacular. One thing is certain: We can always count on Lamborghini to keep things exciting.
