We all know the Tesla Model S P100D with Ludicrous Plus Mode is fast, but how much power does it put down on the dyno?
The folks at DragTimes decided to find out and strapped the sedan to an all-wheel-drive dyno. According to the site, the first few attempts were pretty low since the Tesla Model S was pulling back power while lighting up some error codes. It appears the Tesla’s sensors were detecting that the car was not actually moving while the wheels were spinning, causing the car to not accelerate on the dyno.
After messing with some settings and start speeds, they managed to get the Model S P100D to make power throughout the test with the best results coming in at 588 horsepower and 920.37 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels.
Those results came with the Model S sporting an 88-percent charge and also had some wheel spin during the test, where the numbers were peaking. DragTimes believes the numbers could actually be a bit higher if the Model S had a fuller charge and no wheel spin on the dyno.
