The New Top Gear America Series Might be Pretty Good

BBC America has released the first trailer for the new Top Gear America TV series and by the looks of it, the show may actually be pretty good.

You might already be familiar with the old Top Gear USA series hosted by Rutledge Wood, Tanner Foust, and Adam Ferrara, which was cut after six seasons on the History Channel. While not a bad program by any means, Top Gear USA received flak for not being up to par with its British counterpart.

This new series may just satisfy American TV consumer’s taste for automotive-themed programming. It will be hosted by actor William Fichtner of Black Hawk Down and Dark Knight, champion drag racer Antron Brown and British automotive journalist Tom Ford, who display a good sense of humor and decent chemistry in the trailer.

If you’re a Top Gear fan, the series appears to have all the right ingredients. There’s supercars like the Acura NSX and BAC Mono, whacky antics and even a new Stig. Check out the trailer above before the series debuts on Sunday, July 30th at 8PM ET on BBC America.
