A new supercar called the Boreas Project quietly made its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last month.
We first reported about the car in June, when DSD Design & Motorsport released teasers of a new hypercar designed to compete with Pagani and Koenigsegg. Now that the Boreas Project has debuted, it certainly looks the part, and if it does live up to its claim of making 1,000 horsepower from a plug-in hybrid powertrain, it might be worth keeping an eye on. Not much is known about it, but it will be limited to just 12 units and production is expected to start this December.
The question is whether it will actually end up in production, considering how many electrified supercars and hypercars have debuted in the past few years that just disappear. Building prototypes are one thing, but manufacturing production cars is another — and even at limited quantities, it’s not cheap.
