McLaren has announced that it’ll be bringing a trio of F1s to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed event, joining past and present Can-Ams that the British automaker revealed previously.

As part of the brand’s 50th anniversary celebrations, one of those F1s in attendance will be the chassis F1/01R which returns to the Festival of Speed having ran it in 1995 following its victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Joining it will be a one-off prototype of the McLaren F1 LM, famously built to honor the victory and five finishing cars at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The last of the three F1s will be the Gulf-liveried McLaren F1 GTR Longtail, which claimed second place at Le Mans in 1997.

McLaren is the only racing team to have captured victories in Formula 1, Indy 500, Can-Am, and Le Mans. McLaren will also make the global debut of its P1 model at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a vehicle which was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.

Powered by a supercharged, 4.7-liter V8 engine, the Maserati GranCabrio MC just got a whole lot better thanks to Novitec Tridente.

Delivering 646 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, the Novitec Tridente’s version of the Maserati GranCabrio MC builds on an already great drop-top. The tuner adds forged wheels, a hydraulically height-adjustable coilover suspension, and exclusive interior options.

The Novitec Tridente supercharger system comes complete with a watercooled intercooler to keep the supercharged engine running at optimal temperatures. In addition, a larger intake manifold is bolted on, larger fuel injectors, and a newly calibrated ECU map to take advantage of all the new engine modifications. To give the GranCabrio MC a whole new tone, Novitec Tridente also upgrades the exhaust with a flap-controlled system with a pair of 4.1-inch tips.

Novitec Tridente then swaps out the factory wheels for a pair of 21×9-inch wheels in the front and 22×12-inch wheels in the rear paired with Pirelli PZero high-performance tires. As for the suspension, the addition from Novitec Tridente allows owners to raise the vehicle by over 1.5 inch to help navigate around those pesky speed bumps.

The tuning package from Novitec Tridente will run around $32,000 (23.900 Euros).

Volvo has officially announced its entry into the Australian V8 Supercars Series with a pair of S60 race cars developed by Polestar and Garry Rogers Motorsport (GRM).

The team plans on debuting next season at the opening round of the 2014 championship, and the S60s will be powered by a 5.0-liter version of the Swedish automaker’s 4.4-liter V8 engine developed by Yamaha. The Volvo Car Group will support the program, which makes it a full factory effort.

In fact, Volvo went so far as to say in its press release that it is “the first luxury brand to join the V8 Supercars with a factory team,” undoubtedly a shot at Mercedes-Benz. The German automaker provides no backing to the Erebus Motorsport E63 AMG team.

At the London Collections: Men show, Mercedes-Benz and luxury menswear brand Spencer Hart have unveiled a custom CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake.

Finished in a unique “Nick Hart Midnight Blue,” the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake features subtle, dark, understated finishes instead of the flashy chrome accents and wheels found on a standard model. On the inside, specially-sourced dark Chocolate Brown Italian leather seats are contrasted by Midnight Blue stitching while the Spencer Hart logo has been embroidered into each headrest. Nick Hart’s signature can also be found on the center console.

The custom options found on the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake by Spencer Hart will be available for customers to order.

Porsche Motorsport is welcoming the newest member to its family, Hollywood star and race car driver, Patrick Dempsey.

Together with his team, Dempsey Del Piero Racing, Patrick Dempsey has joined forces with the German automaker and earlier this year competed at the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race in Long Beach, California.

Porsche has released a video celebrating the addition of Dempsey to the Porsche Motorsport team and his journey competing at the Long Beach event. The automaker also promises that a video of Dempsey at the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be next.

Michael Bay has revealed yet another addition to the Transformers 4 vehicle lineup, this time it’s an exotic Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4.

As with several of the other releases Bay has shown off, there’s no hint as to who this Aventador will be reprising the role for. But if we had to take a guess, its matte black finish and black wheels hints of it being a villain in the movie.

Aventadors not from the planet Cybertron make 700 hp from a 6.5-liter V12 engine, are capable of hitting over 200 mph and are priced just shy of $400,000. Surprisingly, however, this isn’t the most outrageous supercar scheduled to appear in the film. Instead, Bay has already announced a Bugatti Veyron will play a staring role.

After a gruelling 24 hours of racing at the Green Hell, the number-9 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 from German team Black Falcon took the overall victory at the Nurburgring endurance classic.

It’s the first time the German automaker has claimed an overall victory at the event and it’s all thanks to drivers Bernd Schneider, Jeroen Bleekemolen, Sean Edwards and Nicki Thiim. Finishing second at this year’s Nurburgring 24 Hours race was the number-25 BMW Z4 M GT3 while the number-22 Rowe Racing SLS AMG GT3 came in third. Noticeably missing from this year’s overall podium were Audi and Porsche, who have typically fared well at the event.

Seventh overall was the number-18 Porsche GT3 from Manthey Racing, which won the SP7 class. Topping the near-production SP8 class was the number-81 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 which also finished 21st overall.

Poor weather caused the red flag to drop five and a half hours into the race, causing a delay of more than nine hours. The tough weather conditions also caused some teams to rethink their strategies, with some of them content with just finishing the race. Aston Martin was one of those teams, leading early with its number-7 V12 Vantage GT3 but opted to take it safe and took 10th place overall.

The Gazoo Racing Lexus LFA finished 37th overall.

Peugeot is all set to compete in this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, revealing its race livery for the 208 T16 race car.

Packing 875 hp, the 208 T16 race car will be piloted by Sebastian Loeb and weighs in at a scant 1,929 lbs. The livery reveals the key partners to the Peugeot Pikes Peak race car including Red Bull, Total, and Michelin. This will be Peugeot’s first return to the famous hill climb race since its victories in 1988 and 1989.

It will be competing in the Unlimited class at this year’s event. The 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb kicks off on June 30th in Colorado.

These days, it’s getting harder and harder to set your custom car apart from the crowd. Tuners and builders are always searching for a new way to be different and this Volkswagen Golf takes it to new heights.

Starting with a regular, black 2013 Volkswagen Golf, the builder decided to wrap the hatchback with a phosphor-foil from 3M in white that glows-in-the-dark. Yep, you read that right. The Golf looks like a clean, white hatch brought to the ground thanks to an air ride setup in daylight. But once the lights go out, it glows a bright green.

The 20-inch Rotiform wheels also got the glow-in-the-dark treatment in a flashy pink. Contrasting the white on the exterior are pink accents and decals, which become black once the lights go out.

The crazy smart forjeremy, which may have drank one too many Red Bulls, is heading to production – wings included.

Created together with internationally renowned fashion designer Jeremy Scott, smart revealed at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show that its forjeremy concept will be available as an “extremely limited special edition licensed for road use.”

So, if you ever wanted a custom smart fortwo with wings on the back, now’s the time. Production is scheduled to begin in April 2013 and it will be available as a coupe with either a local emission-free electric drive, or the Brabus gasoline engine.

The vertical wings are located just above the rear lights while the tridion safety cell, door mirror caps, and radiator grille are all painted in alubeam. The rest of the vehicle is contrasted with polar white paint. Inside, a tailor-made interior is done in white while the three-spoke wheel is covered with white leather.

Pricing was announced to start at 33,333 Euros, or approximately $43,500.

Peugeot will be attending this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with a specially engineered and very wild looking race car from.

The 208 T16 Pikes Peak racer will be driven by nine-time world rally champion Sebastian Loeb and marks the French team’s return to Pikes Peak after its victories in 1988 and 1989. Though the race car’s exterior resembles its production counterpart, the race car was engineered and designed specifically to tackle Pikes Peak.

It will compete in the Unlimited class and draws inspiration from the Le Mans 24 Hours-winning 908. There’s plenty of carbon fiber on the race car, which looks to be a formidable opponent in a class that draws some of the world’s most renowned racers.

Unfortunately the French automaker didn’t reveal many details on its 208 T16 Pikes Peak race car, but promises more will come leading up to the event.

“Its proportions are very different to those of the production 208,” observes Michael Trouvé who is in charge of silhouette design at Peugeot’s Styling Centre. “This difference gives it an almost beast-like appearance. Peugeot Sport provided us with a number of technical constraints, such as the width, body height, location of the wheels and engine, and we worked to this brief to produce an extreme take on the 208.”

While the Porsche 911 RSR certainly looks good in its 2013 race livery, it looks even better stripped down to its carbon fiber glory.

The new RSR replaces the 911 GT3 RSR with a longer wheelbase (10 cm longer) and a new wishbone front suspension that replaces the previously used McPherson struts. The new race car also sports a lightweight racing gearbox with six gears and paddle shifted via the steering wheel.
