Aston Martin has released a video teasing what appears to be an exciting new model.

Announced on Twitter, the release of the video was previewed with a brief comment that, “For the second Friday running we have something very exciting to share with you…”

Last week Aston Martin teased and then revealed its wild CC100 Speedster Concept. As for what this car will be, it appears to be a Vantage model and judging by the aggressive venting (similar to that found on the V12 Vantage) it could be a new version of that extreme performance model.

Unveiled during the Nurburgring 24 Hour race this weekend as part of Aston Martin’s 100th anniversary celebrations, the CC100 Speedster Concept incorporates aspects of the brand’s past racing machines while hinting at the style of future models.

Rather than just being shown off on a stage, company CEO Dr Ulrich Bez gave the concept its very first run on the Nordschleife during the ADAC Zurich 24 Hours of Nürburgring race. Not only that, but it took to the ‘Green Hell’ along with the race-winning 1959 DBR1 piloted by British racing legend Sir Stirling Moss.

Powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine and using a sequential gearbox with a body made of carbon fiber it can hit 60 mph in four seconds with a top speed of 180 mph.

“CC100 is the epitome of everything that is great about Aston Martin,” said Bez. “It represents our fantastic sporting heritage, our exceptional design capability, our superb engineering know- how and, above all, our adventurous spirit!”

With classic speedster inspiration Aston Martin Chief Exterior Designer Miles Nurnberger says he was tasked to, “create something that reflects the 100 years of Aston Martin heritage and signals the future of the brand.”

To help celebrate its 100th anniversary, Aston Martin is set to reveal a concept car that looks as though it will take its inspiration from the DBR1 race car. 

As of now, the British brand has only released a video teasing the concept, which will be fully unveiled on Sunday, May 19, at an event taking place at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring endurance race.

Based on the teaser, the concept will be a small roadster, though it is expected to be built on the same platform as the V12 Vantage. Two of the cars are said to be in production; one to celebrate the centenary and one to celebrate Sir Stirling Moss’ victory at the 1959 Nürburgring endurance race.

Aston Martin is taking three cars to this year’s 24 Hour of Nurburgring endurance race, including a hydrogen-powered Rapide S. 

Aside from its innovative hydrogen race car, Aston is bringing a V12 Vantage GT3 along with a close-to-production specification V12 Vantage. The last time the brand won the race was all the way back in 1959.

This year’s race will mark the first time that a hybrid-hydrogen powered car will compete in an international racing event. It will have a team of four drivers, one of which will be the CEO of Aston Martin himself, Dr Ulrich Bez.

As Aston Martin celebrates its 100th-year anniversary, the British automaker is hard at work finding ways to growing its luxury brand and even just survive.

One priority for Aston Martin is to reduce spending on developing models, which means partnering up with an existing automaker to share supply and technical technologies. Currently, the British automaker is in talks with Daimler, the German manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Now that Aston Martin and Investindustrial have a confirmed agreement, Daimler is Investindustrial’s preferred partner for a supply deal. No decision has been made, and discussions are in their early stages, but a partnership between both brands could prove positive for both sides.

Reports are coming in that Aston Martin has notified all its dealers that no more orders for the Vantage V12 Coupe are being accepted.

The official notice was sent to dealers over two weeks ago on April 19, 2013. Originally introduced in 2009, the Vantage V12 was originally planned to be a model limited to just 1,000 units. But once it made its way to America, the 1,000-unit limit was lifted.

Over the last four years, nearly 1,200 Vantage V12 coupes have been built and sold. It’s unknown whether the British automaker has something else up its sleeve, or if this is just a sign of the times. Sadly, there may not be room left in this fuel-conscious world for high-performance V12s.

Aston Martin confirmed that its partnership with Italian investment fund Investindustrial is complete.

The deal gives Aston Martin £150 million in a capital increase and Investindustrial a 37.5 percent stake in the company. Aston Martin’s headquarters will remain at Gaydon in Warwickshire, England.

That investment, Aston Martin said, underscores an investment of 500 million pounds (almost $780 million) over the next five years in new product development for the brand.

Details of the company’s first quarter will be released to bondholders later this month, but the brand said it is well positioned to implement its aggressive growth strategy after receiving support from Investment Dar and Adeem Investment and now Investindustrial — its biggest stakeholders.

Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez is expected to step down from his position at the end of this year to take on a more ambassadorial role with the brand.

The CEO, who will turn 70 in November, recently made history by completing the first laps on the Nurburgring behind the wheel of the British automaker’s new Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S race car. The Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S will be competing at this year’s 24 Hours of Nurburgring.

Bez joined Aston Martin in July 2000 and has helped bring the automaker back into the spotlight worldwide. In his time as CEO, he helped make the DB7 a global success, oversaw the brand’s move from Newport Pagnell to Gaydon, and lead the launch of all the modern Aston Martin models we see today.

The British automaker has not confirmed the move, but it is believed Bez’s replacement will be chosen by this summer so that he or she can work closely with Bez during the transition period.

The Aston Martin Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S has made history, completing the world’s first hydrogen-fuelled zero CO2 emission lap at the Nurburgring.

The lap was completed this past weekend on Saturday, April 27, with Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez behind the wheel. It was a perfect test run according to the British automaker ahead of a formal record-breaking attempt at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring next month.

Aston Martin engineers were using the four-hour ADAC ACAS H&R-Cup VLN series race to shake down the Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S, which will participate in the gruelling 24 hour race next month. The team looks forward to stabilizing the system to further improve the Rapide S in order to complete many more zero emission laps during the race.

When it competes next month, the Rapide S will officially become the first hydrogen-powered car to compete in an international event in addition to being the first zero CO2 emissions sports car to complete a race pace lap at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring. The car will compete in the E1-XP experimental class. The race car is powered by a prototype twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine.

As Aston Martin celebrates its 100th anniversary, the British automaker has announced a tour through Europe that will have new and old models on display.

The oldest model that Aston Martin will be showing off through Europe is a 1921 A3, which is one of three prototypes Aston Martin created after the first World War. Other highlights mentioned by the automaker include an original 1963 DB5 and a brand new Vanquish from this year.

Remaining under the radar is key to successful espionage, yet James Bond’s go-to Aston Martins are anything but inconspicuous.

Just ask AutoGuide’s own spies who regularly find the British exotics on test runs. The latest incident came to pass on the famed Nurburgring where Aston Martin just tested its Vanquish Volante. Previous excursions saw the car fully nude, but this time it wore a full camouflage suit.

Nevertheless, these photos offer the clearest look yet at its integrated rear spoiler.

Apart from being able to go topless, the Vanquish Volante will be the same as its coupe cousin. That means the same 6.0-liter V12 engine will send 573 hp to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.

Aston Martin will set a new milestone at this year’s 24 Hours of Nurburgring, being the first automaker to race a hydrogen-powered car.

The iconic British sports car brand will be the fist to campaign a hydrogen-powered vehicle at an international racing event, and will also be the first to race a zero-emissions vehicle at the Nurburging 24 Hr race.

Based on the all-new four-door Rapide S model, the race car will use a Hybrid Hydrogen twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine capable of running using either gasoline, hydrogen or a combination of both. Four carbon fiber tanks will be housed inside the car, with two next to the driver and two in the trunk area.

Aston Martin aims to lap the 25 km Nurburgring track under hydrogen-power with the car’s only emissions being water, while also showcasing the reliability and safety of hydrogen technology.

“As we celebrate our centenary in 2013 and look back on a century of excitement, innovation and style it’s also the perfect time to look to the future with this astonishing race car,” said Aston Martin Chief Dr Ulrich Bez. “Working with Alset Global to unveil this system in such a challenging environment as the 24 Hours of Nürburgring shows once again how confident we are in our cars, our people and our partners.”

This year’s Nurburgring 24 Hour race takes place May 19-20th.
