The BMW M4 is in pre-production form now, as AutoGuide’s spy photographers have caught a non-black M4 testing at Nurburgring.

Previous spy photos featured a black prototype; but now that a white model has been spied, the German automaker has moved onto the next stage of testing and hopefully means the M4 might debut soon – perhaps the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year.

The new M4 is expected to make at least 400 hp thanks to a turbocharged, inline-six powerplant. Weight savings from switching to an inline six from a V8 will also make the M4 a more agile sports car.

While Mercedes-Benz was officially revealing the 2014 S-Class sedan today, the German automaker was also busy working on a coupe variant that is expected to arrive next year as a 2015 model.

Our spy photographers have spotted the S-Class coupe testing once again heavily camouflaged. But now that the new S-Class has been officially revealed, it’s easier to fill in the blanks as to how the coupe will look once it’s finally released.

The S-Class coupe essentially replaces the former CL-Class lineup for Mercedes and is expected to share powertrain and models with the S-Class sedan. For now, the only model the German automaker has revealed is the S550, which is powered by a twin-turbo V8 with 455 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.

If you were worried that the Jaguar F-Type coupe wasn’t coming now that the British automaker confirmed recent patent filings were that of an old concept car, here are some spy photos to prove that it’s on its way.

Despite plenty of security surrounding the area where the vehicle was being tested, our spy photographers were able to get a glimpse of the luxury sports coupe. This essentially proves that Jaguar is well on its way to producing the F-Type coupe, since the test vehicle looks very much like a production car.

Similar to the F-Type convertible, the coupe model is expected to share its powertrain with a pair of V6 offerings and a V8 powerplant. But don’t be surprised if high-performance R and R-S variants are in the works. Jaguar also recently stated that it’ll be producing more R-S GT models for exclusivity.

Next to don the KODO Soul of Motion skin, the new Mazda3 is expected to debut during this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, but new spy photos are previewing the cabin today.

Mazda made a point of improving its Mazda6 flagship sedan’s styling both inside and out, and the smaller Mazda3 will follow suit. In fact, it looks like the smaller car might actually make strides beyond its larger sibling. A thin display stands out of the dashboard and looks a little like the screen in Mercedes and Audi products.

The shift knob also looks thicker and the center console takes on a new design compared to the CX-5 and Mazda6. Despite that, the same rotating knob is in place.

BMW is busy filling gaps in its lineup with the 6 Series, 4 Series and 2 Series, and today AutoGuide’s spy photographers caught the M235i testing at the Nürburgring.

The M235i seen here will be the fastest version of BMW’s newest entry into the world of small cars, replacing the 1 Series Coupe and Convertible and acting as a spiritual successor to the 1M Coupe. The 1 Series nameplate will become strictly a front-wheel drive vehicle, and likely only a hatchback model, while the 2 Series will carry on the current 1 Series design.

Larger air intakes are visible up front and low spoilers that give this car away as the M version of the 2 Series. Overall design will only differ from the current 1 Series slightly, with the 2 Series looking a little longer, lower and more raked back.

Under the hood, a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six cylinder is expected under the hood of the M235i.

Rumor has it that the 2 Series will debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

Rolls-Royce is planning a facelift for its smaller Ghost model, as spy photos are showing here today.

But people willing to lunk down the sort of cash required for a Rolls-Royce Ghost — set trajectory north of the quarter-million-dollar mark — don’t want their car to look dated. Given that, the alterations will be minor.

New headlights and minor front bumper changes make the car look more like its new Wraith cousin. The side mirrors are also reshaped and the exhaust is hidden.

When the Wraith debuted several weeks ago during this year’s Geneva Motor Show, it debuted the brand’s satellite-aided transmission (SAT). The system is supposed to predict terrain to predetermine the ideal gear selection. It isn’t clear if that will make it into the facelifted Ghost, but it will come with an updated satellite navigation and infotainment system.

The 6.2-liter V12 engine is also expected to be massaged for more power and lower emissions.

Mercedes-Benz is taking an unorthodox approach to unveiling its redesigned 2014 S-Class, showing off interior photos while staying mum on the flagship sedan’s exterior.

Thankfully, our spy photographers have gotten a glimpse of the new S-Class with little camouflage, leaving almost nothing to the imagination. What is clear now is that the S-Class will follow in the footsteps of the new E-Class with its headlight design. In fact, the two cars could almost be mistake for each other.

It’s expected that the majority of changes to the 2014 S-Class will be on the inside, where the German automaker plans on making the flagship sedan more luxurious along with new-generation technology.

Chevrolet’s newest Camaro met mixed responses on March 27 when its silk slipped off during the New York Auto Show.

On the one hand, Chevrolet made a bold claim: the Z/28 is faster on the track than its venerable ZL1. On the other, it had certain fans up in arms over the tail lights packages with its mid-cycle refresh. To be fair, the negative comments aren’t directed at the Z/28, but the Camaro in general.

Regardless, Chevrolet is testing its new colossus car on Germany’s famous Nurburgring. Chevrolet might seem a little silly for covering a car it already unveiled in camouflage for track testing, but at least the brand seems to be backing up the track time claim it made in March.

In case you missed the details, Chevrolet’s revived Z/28 nameplate will come with a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 and is said to be three seconds a lap faster than the ZL1. That could amount to marketing malarkey. Then again, if that’s three seconds on a normal track, it’s Nurburgring time could be something quite impressive!

Still, it’s hard not to question why this car is still covered. It seems almost identical to the car in New York, but that doesn’t mean it necessarily is. Chevrolet skated around specifics with the Z/28 suspension by calling it “heavy-duty.” One of the ZL1′s key advantages is its Magnetic Ride Control and Chevrolet’s omission with the Z/28 seems suspect.

The ZL1 is still in production, and while the Z/28 is faster for now, Camaro chief engineer Al Oppenheiser said in New York that the car will be “too track-focused for most drivers.”

Given that, imagine for a minute that the car pictured here is equipped with Magnetic Ride Control and the Z/28 body kit. There’s no way the work and money GM just dumped into building its new V8 will be reserved for the Corvette. Given all that, there’s a chance this could actually be a masked version of a a new range-topper that will appeal to a broader market.

Moving closer to production form, the BMW 4 Series Convertible was caught testing, showing almost all of itself with camo.

In comparison with the 3 Series, the 4 Series has an extra 1.9 inches added to its wheelbase while the length of the 4 Series coupe is 1.7 inches longer than the sedan. The convertible variant appears to be identical to the 4 Series concept we have already seen, except for the addition of the hard-top convertible roof.

The 4 Series is expected to adopt its powerplants from the 3 Series, and will be offered in M form as well as with an M Sport appearance package.

Production is expected to begin in November in Regensburg, Germany.

With Lamborghini preparing to launch a new higher-performance Aventador at the Shanghai Motor Show this week, our spy photographers have caught the Italian supercar maker closer to home developing the next iteration of its flagship performance machine.

These photos show a mostly stock-looking Aventador out testing on the Nurburgring, though with a few important changes. Most notable amongst the upgrades are center locking wheels, a unique front splitter, a modified rear spoiler and even unique placement of the brake calipers.

There’s the possibility that this could be an early prototype for a wild Aventador SV model, while the racing-style wheels also support the theory of a track-focused version of the Aventador.

At the Auto China show in Shanghai this week Lamborghini is expected to unwrap a 50th Anniversary edition of the Aventador, sporting a unique aero kit and a power upgrade to 720 hp.

It’s been a big week of testing at the Nurburgring in Germany for BMW and the latest car to appear in spy photos is the upcoming 435i wearing the M Sport package.

BMW already released official pictures of the new 4 Series and brought the near-production concept version to this year’s Detroit Auto Show. Despite that, this is a slightly different version thanks to its performance-oriented changes.

Those include the M Sport bumpers, which are still covered in camouflage, as well as the optional full LED headlights and the larger M Sport brakes visible through the wheels.

New spy photos of Audi’s flagship A8 show some of the upcoming facelifted features.

Those include new headlights, although they are mostly covered in these photos, along with a mildly revised front fascia and a new grille. The rear is also expected to get new lights and a revised bumper, along with minor tweaks to the cabin.

The car will remain unchanged mechanically with a 3.0-liter supercharged six-cylinder engine with 333 hp and 325 lb-ft or a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 with 420 hp and 444 lb-ft of torque.

It isn’t clear when the model will officially debut, but the third-generation A8 reached the market in 2010. Given that, it makes sense for the car to arrive in 2014, as a 2015 model year vehicle.
