Switec Porsche 962 01.jpg

We have featured some interesting used cars before, but this one might top them all. It is based on one of the most successful racing cars of all time, the Porsche 962C, and its transformation was done over at Switec in New Zealand over a four-year period by the Sauber F1 teams ex-chief engineer Ernest Schlaepfer.

The end result looks like something Darth Vader might use on a track day. Its performance will surely not disappoint anyone either. It has a twin-turbo, 3.6-liter, boxer six-cylinder engine which produces 580 hp. That power is translated onto the road via a 5-speed, H-pattern gearbox. Couple that with the car’s 1,830 lb weight, and this is one rapid means of transportation.

Incredibly, this car is street legal (or at least it is in Europe). Then again, if you can afford a used car worth $573,200 then we’re pretty sure you can afford a condo in Europe so you can go play with your new toy.
