Nissan GT-R Track Edition
Trucks, tuner cars and even a diesel compact came out to the 2013 Chicago Auto Show this year.
While it wasn’t a worldwide debut, the Nissan GT-R Track Edition made its first U.S. appearance during the show. The car is limited to 150 units and features performance enhancements including better brake cooling, a stiffer suspension and a lighter curb weight thanks in part to losing its rear seats.
It keeps the same 545 hp output, but gets a carbon fiber rear wing and special RAYS wheels. Unfortunately for Nissan, it’s not really new so it can’t make the official “Top 10″ list. An honorable mention will have to do instead.

The wind, snow and ice might be blowing into Chicago in true February fashion, but it’s business as usual for Dodge at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show.
Ford isn’t making such a big deal out of its booth at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to be excited about. Quite the opposite, actually.
It’s a tribute to the 1970s era GSR and it’s the fastest production Volkswagen Beetle to date.
Suzuki announced its exit from the U.S. market late last year, but the brand’s cars are still selling in other countries – the latest of which it is teasing ahead of the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

As a car that wasn’t freshly unveiled during the show, the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster doesn’t qualify for the list, but it’s hard to look past.
The wait is finally over today as Mazda finally confirmed that that it will offer the SkyActiv-D diesel powerplant in the North American market optionally in the 2014 Mazda6.
Recently reduced to being the smallest automotive brand in North America, Mitsubishi is committed to soldiering forward with U.S. sales.
Part of that commitment means offering the sleeker, more conservative looking 2014 Outlander that the brand unveiled during the L.A. Auto Show in an attempt to hang on to its dwindling market share. The Japanese automaker has to hope that people will take kindly to its restyled utility vehicle after recently slashing many of its products including the Eclipse and Eclipse Spyder.
Mitsubishi will continue to offer both a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine and a V6 while other options for the 2014 model include a navigation system and a 710-watt sound system. Farther on the horizon, the brand will also offer the Outlander PHEV first seen during this year’s Paris Motor Show.

The crossover also gets three new safety systems: lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and forward collision mitigation.
Brand boss Osamu Masuko already predicted that overall brand sales will reach to 55,000 units by the end of the fiscal year and that they will read 80,000 another year after that.
The 2014 Outlander is part of that plan, but it remains to be seen if Mitsubishi will be able to come back from its difficult position.
