It looks as though Lamborghini maybe working on a very fast Aventador prototype. Spy shots have been taken of an Aventador sporting camouflage, fitted with Bugatti Veyron rims and tires.

The only other explanation is that Bugatti is preparing to use the Aventador’s platform for a new supercar of its own but this is quite unlikely. A stock Aventador features 19″ wheels in the front and 20″ wheels in the rear wrapped in 255mm and 355mm tires. The Bugatti is outfitted with 20″ in the front, 21″ in the rear with 265mm and 365mm tires.

This leads us to believe that the Aventador is using this type of hardware because the Lambo is being prepped for more power and needs the extra grip from the larger wheel and tire package The Aventador spotted is also sporting a modified rear end and a new dual exhaust, further strengthening this theory. The stock Aventador is powered by a new 6.5-liter V12 engine that cranks out 700-hp and tops out at 217 mph. The Aventador that was spotted with the makeover is believed to deliver up to 1000-hp and may be capable of hitting 400 km/h or around 248 mph.

6 Supercars 9 Million.jpg

Ever dreamed of owning your own exotic car collection? Well, if you recently won a hefty lottery jackpot then Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale has you covered. The allocator of fine machines has assembled six of the most exotic vehicles ever made and is offering them for a lump-sum purchase of $9 million.

So what will $9 million buy you? The list is impressive, ranging from the obligatory Veyron, to the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR. The Veyron is just one of 71 models built in 2008, capable of hitting 60 mph in 2.4 seconds and a top speed of 253 mph. And if you’re in to top-speed machines, one can’t overlook the Koenigsegg CCR with its twin-supercharged V8 making 806-hp. One of only 34 ever built it has just 277 miles on it.

No supercar garage would be complete without a Ferrari – an Enzo no less. This collection includes two of the prized stallions, one more exotic than the other. The first is a 2003 Enzo and is “Ferrari Classiche certified” with just 3,413 mile on the odometer. The second is not just an FXX (of which only 35 were ever made), but an FXX Evolution, meaning it is just one of 17 and makes an astonishing 850-hp.

Rounding out the list is a one-of-20 Lamborghini Reventon. In many ways a functioning design concept for the brand, this car has just 68 miles on it. And to prove you’re a car snob with taste, there’s that Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Super Sport, a road legal version of the GT1 race car, powered by a 720-hp 7.3-liter V12. It is number 17 or 25.

In total, the collection lays down 4,500 horsepower.

At $9 million for the collection of six, pricing for each model has not been given, but they are listed individually, in case yesterday’s stock tumble means you’re a little strapped for cash.

2010_bugatti_veyron_grand_sport_sang_blanc_1.jpg

With so many color combinations that Bugatti has to offer, you’d think almost every Veyron Grand Sport out there is a one-off. But there is truly a completely unique and one-off Grand Sport in the world, called the Sang Blanc, and it features an exotic Bianco Canopus Matt exterior finish. And now the matte white pearl Grand Sport is up for sale with just 448 miles on the odometer.

The Sang Blanc was originally built for a customer in the UK, but with a left-hand drive configuration. Contrasting the matte white pearl exterior are some black detailed accessories including the front grille, brake calipers, door handles, engine covers, roof rail and exhaust tips. It’s a 2010 model and comes with the infamous 8.0L W16 powerplant with quad-turbochargers and 1001-hp.

It has been two-years since Bugatti pulled the covers off their Galibier super-sedan concept, and while they had made much noise about the concept when it was revealed, not much has been said about this car since.

With Veyron production coming to a close in the near future, speculation has been endless regarding Bugatti’s next move.

Apparently, Bugatti has been working secretly on the Galibier, and according to Wolfgang Dürheimer, the man in-charge of running both Bentley and Bugatti, the production version would hit the market sometime next year.

The Galibier is expected to use a detuned version of the Veyron’s W16 motor. Rumors suggest it’ll have 800-hp, which should be adequate to propel this luxury limo.

Bugatti hopes to produce between 1000 – 1500 Galibier’s, so it won’t be as rare as the Veyron, but don’t expect it to be any cheaper, as the starting price is said to be $1.45 million.

Saint-Tropez is a small town located just east of Marseille on the French Riviera and is often known for its beaches and a regatta event held every year that draws some of the world’s finest luxury yachts to its bay. In other words, it’s a little resort town that attracts some of the world’s wealthiest tourists and as a result, travelers within Europe often times show off really fancy cars.

Spotted recently in Saint-Tropez is this Bugatti Veyron sporting a matte black and blue finish. While it’s not as flashy as this chrome red Veyron, it’s pretty wild none the less. The beautiful Veyron was spotted outside Hotel La Reserve, where the AutoGuide staff always stays when we’re vacationing in Saint-Tropez. (We wish).

bijan_pakzad_bugatti_veyron_vandalized.jpg

Seeing any car getting vandalized is an unfortunate sight. Seeing a Bugatti Veyron with a busted passenger-side window in Beverly Hills is tragic. Finding out that Veyron belonged to fashion designer Bijan Pakzad, who abruptly passed away in April, makes us question humanity.

Pakzad’s infamous black and yellow Veyron, which can be seen sitting outside his Rodeo Drive boutique, was recently vandalized with its passenger-side window smashed in, and of course video teams were ready to capture it all to share.

The motive behind the break-in isn’t clear, but we’re sure it’s safe to assume someone was looking for something to steal.

Check out the video after the break.

bugatti_veyron_cougar_replica.JPG

A Bugatti Veyron costs over $2 million, not exactly in the price range for the majority of people on this planet. So what happens when you really want to rock a Bugatti Veyron but can’t afford it? Convert your existing car to look like one, that’s how. This enthusiast in Palm Bay, Florida did exactly that, taking his ultra-dull Mercury Cougar and fabricating a whole new body onto it to resemble a Bugatti Veyron.

Based on the photos, we’re pretty darn impressed by the craftsmanship that went into the project, even if the idea is ridiculous. The builder states that a one-inch tubular steel-frame was glassed onto the Cougar along with plenty of composite and fiberglass to construct the Bugatti body. Along with the Veyron body conversion, the owner had it repainted in Ferrari red and black, with a two-tone scheme found on genuine Veyrons.

Other than the 20-inch staggered wheels, the rest of the car is stock. That means you’ll get to look the part of sporting a Bugatti, but miss out on the performance that the Veyron is notorious for. The stock Cougar 2.5L V6 is packing 120,000 miles too, so we hope whoever ends up buying it off eBay gets themselves a motor swap… maybe one from a Veyron? Nah, that would just be silly; who would want to do such a thing?

dartz_red_chrome_bugatti_veyron.jpgda

It might not be as fancy as the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc, but Dartz out in Cannes, France has done their own fancy version of a Veyron. Apparently this Veyron has been all over, getting tuned by TAM Auto Engineering in Dubai before it was shipped over to France where Dartz outfitted it with a full red chrome wrap – which might be the first of its color and kind – some wheels, and interior upgrades.

We can’t imagine what this Veyron looks like in person, but we’re guessing it’s even more blingy in real life.

Check out a video of the red chrome Bugatti revealing itself to the world after the break.

As if Bugatti’s Veyron Grand Sport wasn’t extravagant or unique enough, the ultra-exotic auto manufacturer has unveiled a truly one-of-a-kind vehicle dubbed the L’Or Blanc. In collaboration with Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur, this Veyron Grand Sport features porcelain on its body and in its cabin. Stop rubbing your eyes, the most unusual material imaginable that can be used on a car has found its way on one of the world’s fastest convertibles.

True to Bugatti form though, the utilization of porcelain really stands for an experiment with new materials, something Ettore Bugatti exemplified. Presented in Berlin, the L’Or Blanc can claim to be the world’s fastest porcelain and carries a price tag of $2.4 million based on today’s conversion rates.

And really, as crazy as the utilization of porcelain is, its the unique blue and white-swirled exterior finish on the L’Or Blanc that really sets it apart from the crowd.

If you’re a believer in tarot cards, voodoo and rumors thinly disguised as news on the internet, then you’ll love the upcoming Bugatti Royale. That is reportedly the name of the production version of the ultra fast and luxurious sedan that will be based closely on the Galibier concept.

While not a bad name in general, especially considering the brand’s French origins and the fact that few apart from royalty will be able to afford it, there is an historical significance to the title. In true Bugatti fashion, however, you’ll have to trace back in history all the way to the 1920s with the Type 41, which was “commonly” referred to as the Royale. This 21-foot long monster was also an exercise in oppulence, weighing 7,000 lbs and coming with a 12.7-liter straight-eight engine.

The Royale looks to bring this excess into the modern era with a twin-supecharged 8.0-liter W16 engine that will reportedly get hybrid technology.

When building and customizing a car, owners often find inspiration from a race car or another higher-performance version. Other times inspiration can come from an existing, but very different vehicle, which is the case in this awesome BMW M5 build.

After seeing the carbon fiber/orange-themed Bugatti Veyron Supersport World Record Edition the owner of this M5 was convinced and decided to mirror his own car after the world’s fastest. As a result the M5 now sports a carbon fiber wrap on the entire body while the front splitters, side skirts, kidney grilles, side grilles, mirrors, wheels, antenna and rear skirt gets a coat of full-out bright orange paint. Though the car sports a conservative set of BBS wheels, the owner does intend to make it more aggressive with wider wheel spacers than what’s already being used.

While perhaps not the most tasteful built, the end result works much better than expected. And who knows, maybe if it ripped by at top speed, you might think a Veyron had just passed you by.

It’s Monday morning and all you want to do is nurse that coffee and hope the day goes by fast. What would inspire you to get work done? How about working at a Bugatti-inspired Executive Desk? But before you put in the Staples order, you’d better get it signed off by your boss. Trust us.

You’d better be engineering some substantial deals if you’ve got the Bugatti-inspired Executive Desk. Built by Luzzo Bespoke, it will cost you around $240,000 and is inspired by the Bugatti Grand Prix cars of the ’20s and ’30s.

So what sets this desk apart from the do-it-yourselfers from IKEA? For one, it’s adorned with Bugatti’s blue-on-white-with-tan color schemes, and is outfitted with honeycomb grill drawers and a billet aluminum frame. It even comes with height adjustment drive gears modeled after the Winfield carburetor’s synchro quadrants from a Type 57.

If your boss nixes the idea, you can also go back with a request for the $64,000 version of the desk. But make sure it’s not the same day you ask for a raise.

If you can afford the car, then dropping a few bucks for the yacht to go with it shouldn’t be a problem. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu rules the road, and the 30-foot Sang Bleu yacht concept will one day, fingers crossed, rule the water.

Designed by Ben Walsh and inspired by the Bugatti Veyron supercar, the yacht boasts a sleek silhouette with a carbon fiber and aluminum exterior. Walsh, who is a Royal College of Art graduate and currently works on interior design at PSA Peugeot Citroen, made sure every detail of this luxe boat was taken into account.

Although the yacht is still just a concept, this isn’t the first time Bugatti has thought about taking the plunge into watersports. In the 1920s, Ettore Bugatti thought of creating an exclusive high-powered motorboat designed to cross the Atlantic in speed and comfort. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait another 90 years to actually see it happen.

Fashion designer Bijan Pakzad was famous for his Rodeo Drive boutique, which was dubbed “the most expensive store in the world”. While Bijan recently passed away from a stroke, his legacy will live on not only in the fashion world, but among automotive enthusiasts.

Bijan was lucky enough to own a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, and his own personal example was outfitted in his signature yellow and black paint job, to match his own hardtop outfitted in a similar scheme (shown above). The video below, featuring Bugatti’s director of design, explains how the car came to fruition – if you’re into gaudy supercars, today is your lucky day.

We’ve seen a ton of cars sporting the nostalgic Gulf Oil theme before, but this one has to be the most expensive of the bunch. With the countless possibilities that one can do with Bugatti’s extensive online configurator, it was only a matter of time before a Gulf-themed Veyron showed up at a dealership floor. We’re assuming that this is actually just a one-off that Bugatti did in order to honor the world famous livery but perhaps a customer did order it specifically.

Priced at well over a million dollars this unique sports car probably fetches an even higher price tag thanks to its one-of-a-kind livery.

And if you like this, might we suggest Mercedes-Benz’s Gulf-like SLS AMG from the New York Auto Show, as well as the Gulf and Fiat limited edition Abarth 500.

Cars from manufacturers like Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Porsche and Ferrari will be on display. The show is on from April 28 to August 28.

Peter Mullin, who has collected more than 30 Bugattis at his Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard California, is receiving an appropriate body to be fitted to one of the last remaining 1939 Bugatti Type 64′s.

The Bugatti Type 64 was originally designed by Jean Bugatti, the son of Ettore Bugatti, who founded the car company. “We believe this chassis to be the very last to be designed by a Bugatti family member,” said Andrew Reilly, the museum’s chief curator. According to Mr. Mullin, the lightweight frame is built of duralumin, an aluminum alloy that typically contains magnesium, manganese and copper. “It’s very strong and a leading technology for its day,”. “Nobody built a body for the car in part because the rolling chassis is so beautiful, but also because nobody knew what to put on it.” A distinctive and streamlined coupe, true to the period with butterfly doors, which were part of Jean Bugatti’s original design, are to be used for the body of the Type 64.

At the 32nd International Motor Symposium in Vienna, Austria, Volkswagen head honco Dr. Martin Winterkorn announced that the Volkswagen Group will launch a range of plug-in hybrids starting in 2013, calling electric vehicles the “task of the century” for the auto industry.

Winterkorn didn’t specify which models would get a plug-in hybrid variant, and the move comes as slightly surprising considering how heavily invested Volkswagen is in diesels while offering comparatively little in the way of conventional hybrids. “The electric car will impact the future of individual mobility in crucial ways – and Volkswagenis spearheading this technology. Over the mid-term, the plug-in hybrid offers great potential, because it combines the best of two worlds in one vehicle,” said Winterkorn.

VW also released two diesel engines at the show, a 1.4L and 2.0L TDI engines, with the 2.0L meeting strict American emissions standards.

bugatti_veyron_special_edition_5.jpg

After tinkering around with Bugatti’s extensive online configurator for their Veyron, we find it hard to believe anyone special ordering their Veyron would end up with an identical one as someone else. But as if a ridiculously high number of combinations weren’t enough, Bugatti has released two more special edition Veyrons out in Shanghai featuring unique color and trim combinations.

The special edition Grand Sport, Veyron’s convertible, features a matte white with blue carbon fiber combination. On the inside, matching blue interior with white stitching can be seen. While that may be cool enough for some, what’s really awesome is the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport for China. The 1,100-hp Super Sport features a carbon black exterior while the interior is a mix of Snow Beige and Beluga Black. Carbon fiber continues in the interior as accents as well.

No pricing was announced, but Bugatti is well aware of how ripe China’s market is for exotic supercars. One of their 16.4 Super Sport’s has already been sold to a customer in China.

Official press release available after the break.

bugatti_16c_galibier_wolfgang_durheimer_1.jpg

Bugatti president and CEO Wolfgang Durheimer confirming that Bugatti will move forward with producing the 16C Galibier isn’t the biggest news about the super sedan, rather, it’s the fact that Bugatti will be offering a hybrid variant of the car. In an interview with CAR Magazine, Durheimer announced more details on the Galibier program and what Bugatti will be offering for its luxury sedan.

As we already know, the standard Galibier will also utilize Bugatti’s potent W16 power plant but a hybrid option will also be available. Durheimer expressed the importance of being socially acceptable in various markets that might demand a more quiet vehicle. By offering an EV mode with the Galibier, the luxury sedan will have more versatility in an already limited market.

“When the mayors of cities know we can make cars that run silently, I don’t expect they will allow cars that pollute into city centres,” Durheimer said. “But I can’t imagine a Galibier owner leaving their car at the park-and-ride and catching a bus. That’s why we need to offer a hybrid with this car, so owners drive up to the hotel silently in EV mode. But not every Galibier needs to be a hybrid – in places like Dubai it is not what the market wants.”

With the Veyron’s production fading into the horizon, many will anxiously await the production of the Galibier which will be limited to 3,000 units.

Ferrari‘s next flagship supercar, the successor to the 2003 Enzo, will be influenced by the Bugatti Veyron, although Ferrari declined to specify what parts of the vehicle were inspired by the world’s most powerful car.

A Ferrari source reportedly told Autocar “The world is a very different place to how it was when the Enzo was launched. It has moved on completely. And we are Ferrari – we do not take part to make up the numbers.” Compared to the opulent Veyron, the Enzo was more of a spartan, single-minded vehicle focused solely on performance, and this could perhaps signal the biggest departure from not only the Enzo, but the F50 and F40 supercars which preceded it, and were known for their raw, uncompromising nature.

The next flagship F-car is confirmed to have an active aerodynamics system, which is featured on the Veyron, but an move towards luxury, as well as the active aero, wouldn’t square with Ferrari’s previous desire to shed weight from the Enzo, as seen by their Millechilli design study, which envisioned a flagship supercar weighing a mere 2200lbs. We’ll have to wait until 2013 to find out for sure, as that marks the 10th anniversary of the Enzo’s debut, and in keeping with Ferrari tradition, the correct timeframe to debut a new supercar.

For those well-heeled enthusiasts looking to take their friends up to 250+mph, take heart—Bugatti has announced plans to build the Galiber four-do0r, four-seater sedan.

Consider the Galiber a Sybartic, jewel-encrusted amusement park ride, then—with room to impress the neighbors and the same 1000+horsepower W16 engine as in the Veyron. Though because it’s a sensible family sedan, Bugatti might dial back the turbocharger count by two and cap the horsepower at a more responsible 800 horsepower. Don’t accuse Bugatti of not being in tune with the needs of the market.

Bugatti Veyron Salvage 01.JPG

You could be the proud regretful owner of a Bugatti Veryron, for what is certain to be a fraction of the cost of a new model. No, we’re not talking about a Fiero kit car, but a real Veyron. There’s just one issue, it’s got a salvage title given by the insurance company when the owner famously confused it with a submarine.

Likely you recall the story (and video) of the Veyron that wound up in a Texas lake in 2009. You might also recall that this wasn’t even fresh water, but that ultra-corrosive salt water. Worse still, the owner kept the car running – although its not clear if the engine was ruined.

The car is technically a write-off however, meaning that the insurer saw the price of repairing it as more than the car is worth. And when you consider it retails for roughly $1.5 million when it was new – that’s one seriously expensive accident.

From the outside it doesn’t look half bad, apart from a missing headlight and the Bugatti badge that’s falling off. Treat those as an omen, however, as inside the wiring looks to be a mess and some shots show the salt water has already begun its rusty journey to return the Veyron to its more basic elements.
