Amidst all the huge announcements by automakers at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz has quietly revealed the new C-Class Coupe Sport and the AMG Plus Sports Package.

The C 250 Sport and C 250 CDI Sport have 204-hp and will come with AMG-tuned suspension, larger disc brakes, speed-sensitive sports steering, sport exhaust system, retuned engine management for more responsive acceleration, and a sport transmission configuration in S and M mode.

In addition, C-Class Coupe buyers can opt for the AMG Plus Sports Package which can be added to all body and engine models. The AMG Plus Sports Package comes with 18-inch AMG seven-twin-spoke wheels, an aerodynamic kit and spoiler lip, sport seats in black ARTICO man-made leather with DINAMICA red contrast stitching, black DINAMICA door panels, three-spoke sports steering wheel, designo seat belts in red (optional), stainless steel pedals, and red contrast stitching on the gear lever, center console armrest, and door panels.

“Refined sportiness is a brand value we hold dear, and with the new Sport models we are shifting the emphasis of the C-Class a little more towards sportiness,” says Dr. Joachim Schmidt,Executive Vice President Mercedes-Benz Cars, Sales and Marketing. “This means that in the C-Class, alongside the top-of-the-range C 63 AMG, we have the widest ever line-up of sporty models.”

Unfortunately no pricing was announced.

brabus-bullit-coupe-1.jpg

It appears that the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series Coupe needs to step aside for the Brabus Bullit Coupe. The most powerful C-Class in the world from famed Mercedes tuner Brabus will be introduced to the world at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

Based on a standard C-Class Coupe, the Brabus Bullit packs 800-hp and is powered by the same V12 powerplant found in the S-Class. Displacement has been increased from 5.5L to 6.3L with a pair of upgraded turbochargers. The real kicker is the fact that it can make up to 1047 lb-ft of torque, but has been electronically limited to just 811 lb-ft.

That means it hits 62-mph in merely 3.7 seconds. That’s half a second faster than the C63 AMG Black Series that sports a 6.2L V8 with 517-hp and 457 lb-ft of torque, which is incredible already.

The awesome Brabus Bullit comes at a price though, at around $594,000 (€449,820) based on today’s conversion rates. That means the fastest and most powerful C-Class Coupe in the world is definitely the most expensive C-Class in the world too.

Stay tuned for more from the Geneva Motor Show starting March 6th, and see the complete Geneva Motor Show preview here.

Mercedes-Benz motorsport has again turned to Racer David Coulthard this year to pilot some new AMG wheels for the DTM season.

The 40-year old Coulthard will be starting his third year in DTM with Mercedes-Benz in the new AMG C-Class Coupe, rather than his previous car the AMG C-Class Sedan. He will be right at home with the C-Coupe’s paddle shifters, which are very similar to the F1 cars he used to drive. Back in the day, Coulthard picked up 13 F1 wins.

“My first impressions of our DTM Mercedes AMG C‑Coupé are very positive – especially the paddle shift on the steering wheel which I know very well from my time in Formula One,” said David, clearly excited about the new cars features.

This new car is replacing the AMG Mercedes C-Class, which is the most successful vehicle in the 27-year history of the DTM with 84 victories from 156 races.

The 2012 C-Class Coupe will wear new graphics to support Coulthard’s charity foundation “Wings for Life” which aims to find a cure for paraplegia caused by spinal cord injuries.

The vast majority of us will never get to experience a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series up close and personal, so the German luxury automaker decided to take the liberty of creating an app for fans to enjoy some media on their Apple devices.

The app showcases what makes the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe so exciting with highlights on its styling, racing atmosphere, and performance. You can browse through specs of the Black Series Coupe, download dynamic wallpapers, and even share the iPad experience with your friends on Facebook.

Hit the source after the break on your Apple device to download the app.

Mercedes-Benz is adding all-wheel-drive to their C-class and E-class coupes according to a report by Car and Driver.

Until now, both coupes were available exclusively in rear-wheel drive. The 4Matic versions will only be available with one engine option: Mercedes’ 3.5-liter V6 making 302 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

Despite the 4-matic option, Mercedes will continue to offer rear-wheel drive versions as well as the rear-wheel drive exclusive C63 AMG coupe,  E550 coupe and C250 coupe.

Car and Driver speculates that this could signal a C 350 4-matic sedan in addition to the C300 where it is standard equipment.

Set to take on BMW in the luxury sport coupe segment, Mercedes-Benz has introduced the C-Class Coupe at the Geneva Auto Show.

With a profile similar to the E-Class coupe, it gets a slightly more simplistic front end borrowed from the C-Class sedan. It has a sportier edge to it as well, thanks to a roofline that is 1.5-inches lower.

The most exciting news is that the C350 Coupe will be powered by a new direct-injection version of Merc’s 3.5-liter V6 making 304-hp. Using the automaker’s 7-speed automatic transmission, it will hit 60 mph in just 5.9 seconds. Also available will be the C250 coupe using a new turbocharged direct-injection 4-cylinder that makes 201-hp and 229 lb-ft of torque for a 0-60 mph time of 7.1 seconds.

See more of the C-Class Coupe in the video above of the photo gallery below.

Mercedes C-Class Coupe 04.jpg

Set to debut in just under a month’s time at the Geneva Auto Show, a second batch of photos of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe have been leaked showing the car in more detail than before.

The luxury coupe gets some of the restyling from the newly facelifted 2012 C-Class sedan. More important, however, are the new engines that we’re almost certain to get in the coupe model, in order to make it an attractive rival to cars like the BMW 3 Series.

First up is a new direct-injection 1.8-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes as solid 201-hp and 229 ft-lbs of torque to deliver a 0-60 mph time of 7.0 seconds. Wearing the C250 badge, a C350 model will also be offered with a new direct-injection version of the Mercedes V6 engine that produces 302-hp and 273 ft-lbs of torque.

Both a C63 AMG version and an ultra-high performance Black Series model could follow, with the former using the new Mercedes 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8 making 430-hp, while the Black Series could make use of AMG’s new 5.5-liter V8, delivering as much as 563-hp.

Ahead of a planned debut later this year, several official photos of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe have been leaked. Looking just as one might expect, the coupe model follows after a slight restyle of the sedan, which is set to debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week.

More important, however, are the new engines in the sedan that we’re almost certain to get in the coupe model, in order to make it an attractive rival to cars like the BMW 3 Series.

First up is a new direct-injection 1.8-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes as solid 201-hp and 229 ft-lbs of torque to deliver a 0-60 mph time of 7.0 seconds. 2010-e350-coupe-60

After numerous rumors and reports, Mercedes has officially confirmed that it will build a C-Class Coupe model starting next year. The announcement comes as part of a larger press released which says the car will be built at the company’s Bremen plant, where the C-Class sedan is also made.

With the E-Class Coupe (above) riding on a similar platform to the C-Class Sedan, the C-Class Coupe will presumably get a shortened version of the same setup. We also expect a slightly less premium interior for the C-Class Coupe and a price point more in keeping with competitors like the 3 Series and Infiniti G37. In addition, unless Mercedes makes any engine developments over the next few months (which we hope), the Coupe should come with the same engine options as the Sedan, with the 268-hp, 3.5-liter V6 as the top option.

Mercedes is likely to show either a concept or production model this Fall at the Paris Auto Show, with a convertible version to follow.

Mercedes will bring to market a C-Class Coupe to compete directly with cars like the BMW 1 Series and grab important entry-level customers. Earlier this year the luxury automaker released the E-Class Coupe and now this C-Class coupe is expected later this year as a 2011 model.

Above is the first image of the upcoming 2011 C-Class Coupe, looking slightly stubbier than the E. And with no B-pillar to speak of, it not only looks sleek, but gives an obvious hint that a C-Class convertible is also in the works.

Power will reportedly come from a direct-injection version of the company’s 3.5-liter V6, as well as a smaller displacement engine with twin-turbos. Expect that motor to make roughly 300-hp.

In addition, an AMG version could potentially follow in 2012, using AMG’s planned twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine.
