Widebody conversion and 23-inch wheels
You just had to see this one coming. The X6 is arguably the real successor in the German luxury segment to the Porsche Cayenne and so it’s not at all surprising that big German tuning houses like Hamann have been dreaming up outrageous tuning programs for the SUV.
The most obvious trait of Hamann’s modified X6, called the Tycoon, is that it is a widebody. Thanks to new fenders the vehicle is now 2.4-inches (60mm) wider than a standard X6. The aero kit is a complete package, however, and also includes side skirts, a new front bumper, a roof spoiler and a a three-pieece rear diffuser.
To fill those massive fenders, Hamann has produced a 23-inch version of its Edition Race wheels, that come coated in 315/25/23 tires. Those incredibly wide tires, when combined with a new set of Hamann springs that lower the vehicle by 1.6-inches (40mm), make it handle more like a sports sedan than a bulky SUV.
Engine tuning is always a part of the Hamann philosophy and so this twin-turbo inline six has been tuned to produce 360hp at 5230 rpm and 398 ft-lbs of torque at just 1300 rpm. The vehicle new top speed, says Hamann, is now 171 mph.
