Ferrari FF 19.jpg

Ahead of its official public debut at the Geneva Auto Show next week, Ferrari has previewed its new FF grand touring exotic in Maranello.

Few new details were provided and most that were are somewhat irrelevant as the important parts remain unchanged, with the M Coupe-styled luxury Ferrari powered by a direct-injection 6.3-liter V12 engine with 651-hp and 504 ft lbs of torque, enabling a 0-62 mph time of just 3.7 seconds thanks in part to the automaker’s first ever AWD system.

In addition, Ferrari promises significantly improved fuel economy over the 612 Scaglietti it replaces thanks to the company’s HELE (High Emotion Low Emission) system that cut emissions by 23 percent in the California HELE Concept. While Ferrari still hasn’t release full details on the extent of the system in the FF, in the California it includes a start-stop setup, electronic air conditioning, as well as different transmission controls.

Testing exotic cars in the frozen north seems to be a trend right now. Lamborghini just released a teaser video of its new Aventador LP700-4 amid the snowbanks and now Ferrari has done the same, drawing attention to its own all-new AWD system.

The successor to the 612 Scaglietti, the FF maintains seating for four and even offers genuine cargo room thanks to the almost wagon-like design.

Powered by a direct-injection 6.3-liter V12 engine with 651-hp and 504 ft lbs of torque, the FF can hit 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds.

But that’s not all, with the FF promising improved fuel economy and reduced emissions thanks to the company’s HELE (High Emotion Low Emission) system that cut emissions by 23 percent in the California HELE Concept.

Ferrari will release additional information at the car’s world premiere at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show in March. Until then, check out the full gallery below and see AutoGuide’s 2011 Geneva Auto Show preview here.

Ferrari FF 11.jpg

Ferrari has once again released a smattering of photos of its new flagship, known tentatively as the FF or Fast Four. The name of course is a reference to the fact that this is the Prancing Horse’s first-ever AWD-equipped car.

The successor to the 612 Scagliettei, the FF maintains seating for four and even offers genuine cargo room thanks to the almost wagon-like design.

But enough about practicality, the FF also gets a direct-injection 6.3-liter V12 engine with 651-hp and 504 ft lbs of torque, enabling a 0-62 mph time of just 3.7 seconds.

But that’s not all, with the FF promising improved fuel economy and reduced emissions thanks to the company’s HELE (High Emotion Low Emission) system that cut emissions by 23 percent in the California HELE Concept.

Ferrari has revealed a selection of new photos of the new FF model – or should we say photo. Along with one pic of the car in silver (or the much-sexier sounding ‘Grigio Ferro Met. gery), the remainder of the photos show a camouflaged version of the car testing in the snow-covered roads of Sweden and Finland.

Ferrari is eager to promote the new 4RM AWD system found in the new ‘Fast Four’ model. Known for building only rear-drive cars, the FF gets Ferrari’s first AWD system that the company claims weighs half that of a conventional setup and allows for an ideal 47:53 weight distribution.

Should you need reminding, the FF is powered by a direct-injection 6.3-liter V12 engine with 651-hp and 504 ft lbs of torque, enabling a 0-62 mph time of just 3.7 seconds. But that’s not all, with the FF promising improved fuel economy and reduced emissions thanks to the company’s HELE (High Emotion Low Emission) system that cut emissions by 23 percent in the California HELE Concept. Ferrari has just announced the official replacement for its 612 Scaglietti model, calling the new FF a revolutionary vehicle. That it certainly is, defying convention with a “shooting brake” style body, and offering both AWD and the company’s HELE start-stop system.

The FF still sits four, and Ferrari claims it does so in added comfort thanks to the new body shape that’s reminiscent of a BMW M Coupe. The rear seats even folds flat to give the exotic machine usable cargo room.

But the FF name stands for ‘Fast Four’ highlighting the brand’s first ever all-wheel drive system. Called 4RM, Ferrari claims it weighs half that of a conventional system and allows for a 47:53 weight distribution. That helps keep the overall curb weigh of the FF down below 4,000 lbs., over 100 lbs less than the 612.

As for power, it comes from a direct-injection 6.3-liter V12 engine with 651-hp and 504 ft lbs of torque, enabling a 0-62 mph time of just 3.7 seconds.

But that’s not all, with the FF promising improved fuel economy and reduced emissions thanks to the company’s HELE (High Emotion Low Emission) system that cut emissions by 23 percent in the California HELE Concept.
