Is Nissan's Altima the Ultimate Sedan?
Although the Mazda6 won AutoGuide.com’s huge midsize-sedan comparison there are some buyers that want extra power from a four-door car without having to pay a lot more, or sacrifice fuel efficiency. The Altima 3.5 deserves the attention of these people.
Nissan’s fully loaded offering is equipped with many of the same modern features found in the Mazda plus a powerful V6 engine, something that’s becoming quite rare in the segment. With extra cylinders and displacement you might just be surprised how well this car fares in testing.

Top 10 Large Sedans With the Greatest Range
There’s something magical about going on a road trip. Whether it’s the allure of visiting a far-flung destination or just the call of the highway, piling into a car and eating up miles satiates mankind’s wanderlust.
Of course some vehicles are better for long-distance drives than others. A quiet interior, comfortable seats and smooth ride are prerequisites, but plentiful cup holders and storage spaces for snacks can’t hurt, either.
In a lot of ways large sedans were tailor-made for cross-country trips. They’re roomy, relatively efficient and don’t beat you up like a race-prepared Miata. Last week we examined 10 such cars, ranking them based on trunk space. This week we’re comparing those same four-doors but focusing on driving range.
We took each car’s EPA highway fuel-economy rating and multiplied it by the total gallons of fuel in their respective tanks to arrive at a maximum possible range. So, which of these full-figured cars is the ultimate bladder-buster? Click ahead to find out!
Bugatti has built the fastest production cars in the world, but their next project will be a little different. Bugatti CEO Wolfgang Durheimer confirmed that the new 16 C Galibier concept, which gives an indication as to their next production car, will have four seats and have a generous trunk for luggage.
The sedan will likely be powered by a 16-cylinder engine, producing somewhere around 800-hp. The Galibier concept will be much larger than the Veyron and have less power, so 0-60 sprints in under three seconds are highly unlikely. A plug-in hybrid is also in the cards, with an electric-only driving range of around 25 miles, according to Durheimer. Bugatti plans to sell between 1000-15000 of the Galibier models. This is around three times as many sales compared to the Veyron and Grand Sport vehicles sold since 2004. Bugatti will likely begin selling the luxury vehicle during the fall of 2012. Durheimer says the four-seater will cost at least €1M, equivalent to around $1.42 million.

Grand Touring Sedan looks more like a wagon… or a shoe
We’ve been torn over what to think of the design of the Panamera ever since the first spy photos came out. First we hated it. Then we liked it just a little. Now we know why our opinion keeps changing.
Porsche has just released the official photos of the car and opinions seem to change depending on the angle. It does look an awful lot like a wagon. Plus, the fact that the rear seats fold flat for increased cargo area doesn’t help Porsche’s case that the car is a grand-touring sedan.
The Panamera’s functionality is certainly intentional and we suspect some of the reason is to keep Cayenne buyers interested in the Porsche brand as the demand for SUVs (like the Cayenne) diminishes.
Porsche says the Panamera will be offered in several models, shown here are the Turbo (in silver) and the 4S (in blue). Power will be anywhere from 300 to 500 hp depending upon the model. Plus, Porsche says a Hybrid powerplant will be available in the near future. Two transmissions will be offered, including a six-speed manual (thank you Porsche) and the new 7-speed PDK double-clutch system.
Regardless of what we say about the looks of this car, Porsche is expecting huge things for the model with annual sales projected at 20,000 units worldwide!
