Model Year 2011-2012 Nissan 370Z sports cars and Infiniti G37 luxury coupes are recalled due to a programming error in the power window switch controller in select vehicles.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is looking into Nissan’s auto-reverse power windows, which contains a sensor that can stop and reverse the windows when a blockage is detected, preventing the occupants from having their finger’s pinched. In approximately 1,788 Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37 cars built between July 2 to August 29, the auto-reverse power windows might malfunction.

Owners can bring their recalled vehicles to local dealerships for free servicing. For more information, contact NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 (reference recall campaign number 11V538000) or Nissan at 1800-647-7261 or Infiniti at 1-800-662-6200.

The original assumption of Sebastian Vettel collaborating with Infiniti to produce a special edition IPL G37 Coupe may still be accurate, but now rumors are stirring that the Sebastian Vettel Edition Infiniti may actually be based on the FX model, rather than the G37. The belief is that Infiniti has already enhanced the G37 with the IPL line, and it wouldn’t make as much sense to further customize it by adding a Sebastian Vettel Edition.

In a new teaser video regarding the Vettel collaborating with Infiniti, a hint is dropped that the debut of the special edition model may occur at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Unfortunately everything is speculation right now, but Infiniti is causing some curiosity with how they’ll be taking advantage of their partnership with Vettel and whether or not it’ll pay off in the long run. Hopefully whatever model it is, Infiniti has done more than just some aesthetic changes but rather some serious performance modifications to give it a true Vettel-inspired driving experience.

We’ll be honest, we thought this whole matte black car craze would die out sooner than it has. We’re getting tired of seeing yet another poorly-done flat black car, but damn if this Infiniti G37 sedan doesn’t just look incredible. With the facelift on the new G37 sedan, we’ve been anticipating what the aftermarket would do with its new, more aggressive lines and this entry is everything we’ve been dreaming of.

Based out of Japan, Access Evolution decked out this sedan with products from their Exclusive Sport line. The matte black makes it a very aggressive VIP style rather than the sleek gloss black that’s normally related to the traditional “bad ass” VIP style. It’s amazing how simply making the car matte black instead of glossy black makes it sporty rather than luxurious.

The unique wheels are from Forgiato and really not our tastes, but they’re definitely unique and make the car stand out even more. The open wheel design really shows off the bright green Access Evolution calipers. The brake upgrade on this demo car sports 4-piston calipers and 14-inch rotors which can be had for $3,139.

The body kit itself is part of the Exclusive Sport line of products from Access Evolution that includes a badgeless grille ($805), front carbon fiber lip spoiler ($1,168), and rear carbon fiber trunk spoiler ($615). Overall the car is pretty simple but the combination of all the modifications (most noticeably the flat black finish) really makes the car stand out..

With Infiniti already having announced that it would debut the all new 2011 M at a private event the evening before the LA Auto Show, news has now leaked that the automaker will use the venue to showcase two more vehicles.

First up is the new G37, which is expected to get only minor changes, as shown in these leaked photos. The updates include tweaks like revised bumpers with separate fog lights. The photo above (obviously) shows the sedan, while the close-up photo below shows the updates to the front fascia of the coupe.

In addition to the G37, it has been reported that the new QX model will debut at the same venue. Little is known about this model other than what the spy photos (below) show. The truck does get a stylish new look that is certainly more cohesive than the old QX… plus, there’s plenty of chrome. Don’t expect big changes under the skin, however, as Infiniti isn’t likely to have invested too heavily in a model that, due to the recession and recent downsizing trends, is becoming increasingly unpopular.

As for the new 2011 M, expect a 330-hp 3.7-liter M37 model as well as a 400-plus horsepower 5.6-liter M56.

AutoGuide will be on hand with live coverage from the Infiniti event starting December 1st.

Infiniti Launches Stunning G37 Convertible

Sure it’s heaver and slower than the coupe… but it’s oh so sexy!

Heavier, slower and more expensive; it’s the price you pay to have the sun on your face no matter what convertible you opt for, and the G37 is no exception. All convertibles do have a certain mystique, however, and Infiniti’s drop-top version of the G37 is definitely a stunning piece of work.

Interestingly the G37 Convertible is actually wider out back to accommodate the hard-top convertible roof. The body of the car is 1.1-inches wider and incredibly the track is even extended 1.4-inches.

Power is supplied by the 325hp 3.7-liter Nissan V6 with a seven-speed automatic standard and an optional six-speed manual.

In total the G37 Convertible weights 442 lbs more than the coupe.
