10. Jeep Compass (tie): 52.7%
Ever wonder just how different men are from women when it comes to picking their vehicle of choice? Here’s a top 10 list of vehicles with the highest proportion of female buyers, provided by Polk via InsideLine. There are a few unexpected models on the list, and a couple of models that, to our surprise, are missing.
Tied for 10th is the Jeep Compass, the only American vehicle on the list. In a way it makes sense, the Compass never gets the respect it deserves, packing a four-cylinder engine and hardly has the rugged off-road ethos that traditional Jeep fans embrace. So in our most sexist tone possible, it makes sense that women embrace the Compass – no really, it’s Jeep’s baby SUV.
Kelley Blue Book has announced the winners of their 2012 Best Resale Value Awards with Toyota being the best resale value brand and their luxury counterpart, Lexus, topping best resale value luxury brand.
Coming out on top of the list of this year’s top 10 best resale value vehicles however is (In order from first to last): Audi‘s Q7, Chevy‘s Camaro, Honda‘s CR-V, Hyundai‘s Tucson, Infiniti‘s FX, Jeep‘s Wrangler, Lexus’s RX, Nissan‘s Frontier, Toyota’s FJ Cruiser and their Tacoma.
Resale value is always important to those spenders hoping to get the best bang for their buck for their vehicle down the road. But oftentimes these are just estimates and market changes should be taken into consideration as that can impact resale value of vehicles.

Hot on the heels of Kia’s awesome advertisement for their Soul compact car, Hyundai‘s South African arm has just launched a new spot for the Tuscon crossover (known as the ix35 in South Africa) taking off the wildly popular TV series Top Gear.
The spot, features a mock driving show called “Top Deer”, and features dead-on voice impressions of hosts James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond (represented by a turtle, wildebeest and hamster respectively), the familiar Top Gear episode format and typical cinematography. The ad, along with its companion segment, (where their hired gun race driver “The Stag” tests his mettle against the car) manages to take a tongue-in-cheek swipe at the BBC hit, which hasn’t always been so kind to Korean cars.
We have no idea how Hyundai is perceived in South Africa, but the cheeky ads are sure to resonate in a country gripped with the festive spirit of the World Cup and a booming new middle-class eager to buy brand new cars.

Concept will inspire all future Hyundai SUV designs
Its code name is the HED-6, but this concept car, set to be unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show in March will be the successor to the Hyundai Tucson. When it does make it to production, this entry-level SUV will be called the IX-35…. at least it will be called that in Europe.
Hyundai has yet to comment on if North American cars will get the alpha-numeric nomenclature that their overseas counterparts currently receive and considering the new i30 recently launched in the U.S. using the name “Elantra Touring” we wouldn’t be surprised if the Tucson name stayed.
When the concept is unveiled in full at Geneva be sure to take a close look, as according to Allan Rushforth, Hyundai Motor Europe vice president, the HED-6 Concept will pave the way for all future Hyundai SUV designs.
The HED-6 Concept was penned at Hyundai European Design in Rüsselsheim, Germany, under the leadership of Hyundai Europe’s Chief Designer Thomas Burkle.
The concept will feature a hexagonal grille, plenty of angles, 21-inch wheels and headlamps that wrap around onto the fenders. Those headlights will feature LED daytime running lights.
Power will come from a direct-injection 1.6-liter engine that makes an impressive 175hp.
