If you thought the fifth installment of the Fast & Furious movie franchise was the end, you were mistaken… twice. While the closing credits for the film left an obvious opening for a sixth movie, now comes word that Universal Pictures is planning a seventh as well, which is to be shot at the same time as the sixth flick, with both taking place in Europe.
In addition, rumors are swirling that action star Jason Statham (a man often seen behind the wheel of an Audi in the Transporter movie series) could be joining the cast for both movies.
Having dealt with American muscle and Japanese imports, is it finally time for the Fast & Furious cast to hit the Nurburgring in a Porsche GT3 or BMW M5? Once can only hope.
Jason Statham drives the new Audi A6
Well, it’s not as good as last year’s ad, but Audi’s 2009 Super Bowl ad is certainly worth a watch.
Jason Statham, known for piloting Audis in his roles in the different Transporter movies is escaping from some bad guys in the commercial. After no luck with an old Mercedes, and less luck with a BMW (which he steals from a pink polo-shirt wearing owner) he rolls his eyes at even the thought of driving a Lexus and luckily happens upon Audi’s new A6 and it’s supercharged V6 engine. The rest is, well… just watch the commercial.

Assuming you just watched the above trailer, we’re sure you’re as excited as we are to view the full 96 minutes of Audi’s efforts to clinch yet another victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The documentary will air on ESPN from 8 p.m. till 10 p.m. on Friday, March 20 – the day before the 12 Hours of Sebring.
Audi, which has competed with its R8 and R10 race cars in the ALMS series and at Sebring in the past will bring its new R15 race car to Sebring but will not compete in the remainer of the 2009 ALMS series.
As though you needed any other reason to watch the high production quality documentary we should tell you that Mr. Audi A8 himself, Jason Statham, aka The Transporter, is the video’s narrator.
