We live in a digital world. For many new-car shoppers megabytes and gigahertz are just as important as horsepower and fuel economy. To members of the younger demographic chips are made of silicon, not potatoes, and ram has nothing to do with trucks. But what about the rest of us? To help customers understand the high-tech features of their cars, every Lexus dealer is staffed with dedicated experts that are at the ready to answer any questions a buyer may have about their vehicle.

Crossovers are all about fuel efficiency and family functionality. They blend attributes of cars with traits of traditional SUVs to create vehicles that are neither fish nor fowl; they’re the undecided voter of the automotive world, essentially the state of Ohio. Is it going red? Will it be blue? One thing’s certain; it’ll never go to the Green Party.

final-lexus-lfa

In December 2012, the last Lexus LFA, number 500 of 500 rolled off the assembly line, leaving many car fans wondering what’s next for the Japanese brand? While Lexus has been mum about the future of its supercar, the company released a new video saluting the advancements of the LFA, and the new driver-focused mantra of Lexus.

There’s very little noise more satisfying than the screaming V10 engine of the Lexus LFA, and fortunately this video’s soundtrack is littered with the brilliant exhaust note of the big engine. Putting out over 500-hp and having a redline at 9,000 rpm, the engine isn’t even the LFA’s most interesting component.

It’s mostly carbon fiber construction is made in house by Lexus using a carbon fiber circular loom, one of two in the whole world. The whole car is an out-of-the-ordinary excercise by Lexus, an automaker that used to be known for floaty luxury cars just ten years ago. However starting with the LFA it seems like the brand’s emphasis has switched into delivering brilliant driving experiences.

With many hoping another LFA is on the way, Lexus has insisted that the lessons learned from the LFA will translate into its future products. The factory which made the impressive supercar is yet to be shut down, with workers continuing to make parts for the 500 LFA owners out there.

Once upon a time the automotive market was radically different. Just a few decades ago things were much simpler for consumers than they are today. Unless they’re shopping for a new Tesla, buyers face a borderline-absurd number of choices when they walk into a typical dealer showroom. This is why we’re here. Ask AutoGuide’s expertly trained, nationally certified Oracles are ready, willing and usually able to help new-car shoppers in distress. Think of them as caped crusaders fighting for what’s right… as long as they don’t have to get up from their desks or change out of their Velcro Hush Puppies.

BMW-ActiveHybrid-3

Who is to say that luxury car buyers aren’t affected by high gas prices? If you want to drive in comfort, style, and have the latest high tech goodies in a car, you shouldn’t have to pay more at the pump for it. Here are our picks for the top 10 most fuel friendly luxury cars, ranked in order of their combined city/highway mpg numbers.

Quite a few luxury cars hit the 29 mpg mark combined. The most impressive of the bunch is the Buick LaCrosse, which manage to get solid fuel economy, despite its bigger size. The Infiniti, Mercedes and BMW vehicles make do with a high-power pairing of a six-cylinder engine and an electric motor, which gives the end result of over 300-hp.

The Buicks use a mild hybrid system called eAssist which pairs a 2.4L four-cylinder engine with a conventional automatic, and a compact lithium ion battery to get its impressive fuel economy numbers.
