When you go and build a race car out of a mundane minivan, there are some opportunities you absolutely have to take advantage of – like going to McDonald’s.
Japanese McDonald’s customers will have an easier time eating and driving starting on April 24 when the fast food giant will begin giving away the item shown above.
The Ariel Atom is one of the world’s greatest machines, offering unprecedented performance and sheer driving exhilaration. McDonald’s on the other hand, is one of world’s greatest fast food chains, offering cheap and arguably tasty food at budget prices. What happens when you combine the two while a camera is rolling? Hilarity ensues.
Apparently this video was filmed for a local food competition, but whatever the motives are, we’re glad it’s on YouTube for us to all see and enjoy. Ever had that nagging friend that would insist on eating in your car? Well, it appears that Ariel Atom owners don’t have that problem. It seems that it’s rather difficult to snarf down some french fries when you’re combating blistering acceleration in your face.
Check out the hilarious video after the break.
Chances are, if you own an electric car are or thinking of buying one, you’d pass on a fat-filled, processed McCardiac Arrest in favor of a ‘tasty’ granola bar. But would you stop at a McDonald’s to charge up your EV? (They do offer salads, after all). That’s what a Micky D’s in West Virginia is counting on, as it’s the first fast-food restaurant to be equipped with Level 2 electric car charging stations.
Located in Huntington, West Virginia, this McDonalds celebrated its grand opening recently (and as a side note, it replaced the first-ever West Virginia McDonald’s) and showed their plug-in electric vehicle station.
Although the town doesn’t have that many electric vehicles going through the drive thru just yet, that doesn’t worry Tom Wolf, the new McDonald’s owner and operator. “I wanted to offer this capability to show our customers that this new technology is here when they are ready to take advantage of it,” said Wolf.
