Before the untimely death of Uwe Gemballa, he had given the world a special gift, a modified Ferrari Enzo. Gemballa is one of the most well-known tuners in the world, but all his work was previously focused on Porsches. So the move to work his magic on a Ferrari, and a very rare one at that – only 400 Enzo’s were ever produced – came as a big surprise.

The tuning went far beyond just looks. The Enzo’s aerodynamics were tweaked to give the car more downforce at speed, and the brakes have more ducting to cool them quicker. It’s also lighter, lower, wider and faster. The extra speed comes thanks to a tuned 6.0-liter V12, that now produces 700 hp.

The initial plans were to produce 25 examples of the Enzo-based MIG-U1, but with Gemballa’s death and reoganization of his company, so far only one such vehicle exists. It is currently on sale, and while the listing says the car is in the U.S.A., after inquiring the seller informed us it is actually currently sitting in Paris, France.

Interested? Thought you might be, after all it would make for an interesting addition to any garage. However, as you might have guessed, it is not exactly cheap. The current owner is asking $3.8-million for it, which is twice as much as what a regular Enzo is fetching these days. We suggest you crack open all your piggy-banks now.

It seems like only yesterday that Ferrari unveiled the Enzo as the pinnacle of all that an automobile could stand for and achieve. It was thought untouchable, both in terms of competition and modification. Oh how times have changed.

Dedicated Porsche tuner Gemballa has decided to try its hand at the ultra-exclusive world of Ferrari tuning, and we have the first images of what is known as the MIG-UI Enzo. The car was built for brothers Mustafa and Illyas Galadari of The Illyas and Mustafa Galadari Group – Gemballa’s Middle East distributor. The Gemballa Enzo is named after the brothers, with Mustafa’s name coming first because he donated his personal Enzo to the project.

We have to say the Star Wars-inspired body is definitely extreme (just how they like it in Dubai). Inside the cockpit gets a luxurious overhaul, a significant upgrade from the Enzo’s basic factory equipment. The car is scheudeld to be officially unverield at a private event in Dubai and hopefully then we’ll have some info on what (if any) modifications were made to the 6.0-liter V12 engine. Normally we’d say such a powerplant is untouchable, but there is the lone example of of the Edo Competition/ZR Auto Enzo, which is powered by an 840-hp FXX motor.

Breaking: Ferrari P4/5 Competizione Confirmed

Billionaire James Glickenhaus says coachbuilt Enzo race car project is a go

James Glickenhaus, the man behind the coachbuilt Pininfarina Ferrari P4/5, has confirmed that he will build a race version of the car to compete in endurance racing.

The P4/5, which debuted at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, is a one-off rebodied Ferrari Enzo, built by the Pininfarina design house to look like the famous 1967 Ferrari P4 race car. It is reported to have cost Glickenhaus $4 million.

The P4/5 Competizione would be a race-ready sibling to that car and will likely cost even more.

Several months back when Glickenhaus first proposed the idea he admitted it was a long shot, saying that, “There are a LOT of stars that would have to align for this to happen but it’s not impossible.”

Glickenhaus recently posted on FerrariChat under his screen name of Napoli that, “Things are starting to come together. It will take time but there is excitement and real interest. Thanks to my Partners in this adventure! This will be some trip and it has begun. P 4/5 took on a life of her own. May P 4/5 Competizione follow her example.”

It is expected that the Pininfarina Ferrari P4/5 would be entered at an upcoming Nürburgring 24 hour race.

The P4/5, which debuted at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, is a one-off rebodied Ferrari Enzo, built by the Pininfarina design house to look like the famous 1967 Ferrari P4 race car. It is reported to have cost Glickenhaus $4 million.

Now it appears as though Glickenhaus is planning a sibling for his custom creation. Posting under the the screen name Napoli on FerrariChat, the prolific poster writes “There may be an act 2 here. I am seriously investigating a proposal to make P4/5 Competizione and enter her in a major 24 hour race. There are a LOT of stars that would have to align for this to happen but it’s not impossible…”

If the project does go ahead, the Nürburgring 24 hour race is the most likely venue at which the car would race.

Edo Competition and ZR Auto have once again teamed up to create the world’s most extreme Enzo. Easily one of the most incredible machines ever made, the Enzo makes 660hp in stock form, but Edo has upped the power to 840 ponies – more than even the FXX.

Ferrari’s FXX is an all-out race car and while it does trump the Enzo in power and overall performance, it isn’t street legal anywhere.

Over a year ago Edo and Canadian exotic tuner shop ZR Auto got together to transform this Enzo into an unreal performer. ZR Auto, it should be noted, became famous infamous after owner Zahir Rana posted a viral video of himself driving at speeds of 300 km/h on Canadian roads in a mostly stock version of this same yellow Enzo. Rana later denied the high speed shenanigans, saying he had faked it all as a stunt to help promote his shop.

It’s not entirely clear if Edo built up the Enzo engine to match the FXX, or if the shop actually managed to finagle a powerplant out of Ferrari’s hands. Either way, the new engine boasts a displacement increase from 6.0 to 6.3-liters with a fully rebuilt top and bottom end. Full power comes on at an alarming 9600 rpm, with 575 ft-lbs of torque at 5800 rpm. Edo even claims that an additional 20hp is possible with the exhaust system removed – but then that wouldn’t make the car street legal, now would it?

Shift times are just 60 milliseconds, the same as in the FXX Evolutione. By comparison a Ferrari F1 car takes 40 ms to complete a shift.

Numerous weight-saving measures were also taken, dropping the overall curb weight of the car by 220 lbs. As a result of these modifications, Edo claims a 0-62 mph time of 3.2 seconds, with a 9.0 second run to 124 mph. The top speed is an estimated 242 mph!

In addition to all of these modifications, Edo also equipped the Enzo XX Evolution with a custom aerodynamic kit.
