Ford crammed literally dozens of cars and trucks into its booth at the SEMA Show this year, but of the group there was one definitive showstopper. During the press conference, only one car remained under wraps and that was the Team Need for Speed 1969 Ford Mustang RTR-X, built with input by Ford driver Vaughn Gittin Jr. and set to appear virtually in an upcoming Need for Speed game.

Based on the 1969 Dynacorn body Mustang (a recreation of the original fastback model using Ford tooling), the chassis is custom built, as is the suspension setup, to allow for an extra low ride height as well as some serious (50 to 60 degree) steering angle. After all, this is no trailer Queen. No, Gittin intends to drift the car like he would any other.

Under the hood is a new 5.0-liter V8 engine from the 2011 Mustang GT, pumped up to 440-hp at close to 8000 rpm. And who can miss the Kinsler individual throttle bodies?

Outside there’s plenty of custom bodywork including the massive fender flares. According to Gittin, he and his team took inspiration not just from race cars and classic American muscle, but also from old Japanese sports cars (we spy a little Datsun in the design). And speaking of old school Japanese cars, the RTR-X gets a set of Work Meister rims (designed after Gittin’s own drift car) wrapped in Falken RT615-K tires.

Other modern highlights for the RTR-X include an updated interior with digital gauges, as well as plenty of carbon fiber and Alcantara.

We can’t wait to see what this beauty is capable of.

With so many crimes against automotive design and general good taste set to be revealed at the SEMA Show this week, he no holds barred approach to car customization could use a little policing. And what better way to keep the peace than in Ford‘s Police Interceptor Stealth concept.

Set to debut tomorrow alongside a long list of Fiestas, Mustangs and F-Series trucks, this SEMA Show car takes inspiration from the SR-71 Stealth bomber and applies it to Ford’s Taurus SHO. Compared to Ford’s official Police Interceptor, this concept car is lowered by 1-inch and includes some massive 22-inch black wheels. It also gets the complete blacked-out treatment, with dark tint, smoke taillights and exterior brightwork that’s all been painted black.

We just have one question, is it OK to say that a police cruiser has been “murdered out?”

NEW STEALTH FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR MIXES MUSCLE, MYSTERY AT 2010 SEMA SHOW

- Ford to debut the ultimate stealth Police Interceptor at SEMA – a customized concept of its all-new Police Interceptor sedan

- Revamped grille, lighting, exhaust and interior provide a sleek, yet slightly sinister look designed to blend muscle with mystery

- Designer drew inspiration from the SR-71 Blackbird, the original stealth airplane revealed in the ’60s and considered by many aviation experts to be the ultimate aircraft

Dearborn, Nov. 1, 2010 – Sleek, streamlined and slightly sinister, a specialized stealth concept version of Ford’s Police Interceptor will debut at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) trade show in Las Vegas.

Using the strong lines and muscular stance of the Ford Police Interceptor sedan as a base, Ford designer Melvin Betancourt developed a customized undercover stealth version that’s both stylish and full of high-tech surprises.

“This car offered the perfect canvas for me as a designer,” Betancourt said. “The Police Interceptor sedan is already a unique vehicle. I just started looking at ways to give it that mysterious but high-tech look.”

The Police Interceptor sedan was introduced in March, followed by a utility version in September. Both Interceptors will debut simultaneously when production of the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor ceases in late 2011.

The stealth concept vehicle will be on display throughout the SEMA show, which runs Nov. 2-5.

Betancourt started the undercover version by lowering the body and giving the illusion of added width. The body was lowered an inch, and the special 22-inch wheels are inside a staggered rim section so the front is 3 inches and the rear is 3.5 inches.

“The rim section is stacked to give it the illusion of greater width,” he said. “The center of the wheel is glossy black, and the rim is chrome. So we have that racy, hot rod look, but at the same time we’re building a sinister, stealthy, ‘Don’t mess with me’ feeling.”

Top-secret airplane provides inspiration

Betancourt used imagery of the SR-71, the original stealth airplane, for inspiration as he customized the vehicle. Known as the “Blackbird,” this high-altitude, long-range reconnaissance aircraft was secretly designed in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Its top speed was more than three times the speed of sound. Now retired, the Blackbird is considered by many aviation enthusiasts as the ultimate airplane.

Betancourt kept in mind the Blackbird’s iconic imagery and status as he considered the elements of his own stealth project. “When you think stealth, you think, ‘there, but not there.’ This is all about strength, secrecy and concealment.”

The exterior of the Police Interceptor stealth vehicle is solid black. The grille is mesh, like the original sedan, but the metal is thicker, offering more depth. The lights on the car are designed to be inconspicuous, with the surrounding area painted black so they blend in until illuminated.

The back of the vehicle was given an aggressive spoiler adorned with bead lights painted black so they remain unnoticed until the car is started. The taillights are smoked, the windows tinted.

It’s a vehicle that exudes power – and it should. The production Police Interceptor sedan model offers two powertrain options, allowing police to choose the engine that best meets their needs.

A 3.5-liter V6 engine delivering at least 280 horsepower and E85 compatibility is 25 percent more efficient than the 4.6-liter single-overhead-cam V8 offered in the current Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. And an all-new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged, direct-injection EcoBoost™ V6 engine will deliver at least 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque across a broad rpm range.

That strength complements the mystery inside the revamped interior of the stealth version.

“It’s all about concealing everything,” Betancourt said. “The headliner is black, we wrapped the B-pillars in black, and then we started looking at, ‘Where can I hide this? How can I conceal this?’ We repackaged the console – it looks like a production console with the waterfall of the instrument panel. But when you start opening doors and panels, that’s when you see everything.”

Unless you’re supposed to be in the vehicle, you won’t know where and how to find the compartments, he said. For example, the radio is hidden inside the console, as is an onboard computer. Also, the glove box has a secret space designed for weapons.

Betancourt anticipates visitors to SEMA will immediately sense the uniqueness of the car.

“Right away, they’ll see this vehicle that looks different, that looks sinister – but they won’t know exactly why. Then, as they get closer, they’ll start to see all of these touches that work together to create the overall image.”

Ford has just announced the remainder of its SEMA lineup of custom cars, which will joint the eight Fiestas on display at Ford’s usually huge presence at the aftermarket expo. Along with a mishmash of other customized Fords, the Blue Oval will use the show to put the focus on its new 2011 Explorer crossover, showing off three modified versions of the “truck” in three different styles: Urban, Luxury and Adventure.

Not surprisingly the Urban Explorer was created by Funkmaster Flex, while Galpin Auto Sports built the Luxury model (above), complete with 24-inch wheels. Finally there’s the Lifestyle model built by CGS Motorsports with some up-scale touches while also highlighting the adventurous side of the crossover with items like carbon fiber bicycles.

In addition to the Explorer, Ford will also have on hand two Taurus SHOs, including one built by H&R Springs and another by Rick Bottom Designs with a 16,000 watt audio system. A pretty-tacking looking Ford Edge by K-Daddy Kustomz will also be a part of the display, as will a Ford Fusion Sport by Steeda Autosports with plenty of suspension upgrades. And finally, there’s the Lincoln MKX by the ID Agency. Normally a custom Lincoln isn’t worth much of a mention, but this one looks impressive and is described as a “Urban Assault Vehicle.”

Dearborn, Mich., Oct. 14, 2010 – The all-new Ford Explorer has been turning heads with its eye-catching, modern design, and things will be no different when it hits the floor of the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show this year, which will be held Nov. 2-5 in Las Vegas.

“It’s so new and reinvented, and the styling is standout from the inside out,” said Craig Patterson, Ford Explorer marketing manager. “Explorer is the perfect choice for people to accessorize. Those who want to customize it are starting from a great base that is extremely well received, and that’s where the attraction lies.”

For the 2010 SEMA show, Explorer will take to the Ford stand along with customized versions of Ford Taurus SHO, Edge and Fusion Sport, as well as the all-new Lincoln MKX. The Explorers on the show floor will open up customers’ minds as to the possibilities that can be created with the all-new SUV.

“We designed three different images for the Explorers at SEMA,” said Melvin Betancourt, Ford specialty design manager. “The new Explorer resonates as a modern SUV, so the modifications play off all the great technology and features that the vehicle is equipped with.”

An Explorer customized by Funkmaster Flex and Team Baurtwell shows off the urban appeal of the new SUV, and comes standard with street cred inside and out. The look is highlighted by three-piece forged billet wheels, which are complemented by 24-inch Cooper tires. Baer brakes provide the stopping power.

The design that sets this Explorer apart starts with the exterior, with custom touches from Team Baurtwell and Funkmaster Flex including custom logos. The interior offers Katzkin two-tone leather seats with custom interior accents and Funkmaster Flex logos. A Sony Xplod audio system ensures customers have the ultimate listening experience.

Another Explorer concept, designed by Galpin Auto Sports, takes a vehicle with luxury appointments and makes it into an ultra-luxurious ride that even James Bond would enjoy. Using the character as their inspiration, the Galpin team used 24-inch wheels, custom silver paint on the exterior and modified exterior light treatments to convey that image.

The custom interior shows off its luxury side with a leather-trimmed headliner that has suede running down the center, a look that’s replicated on the seat inserts. An iPad pops up from the second-row console, and is viewable in either landscape or portrait mode.

“This is a luxury, high-end vehicle that serves multiple purposes,” said Tedros Mengiste of Galpin Auto Sports. “The Galpin Auto Sports Explorer is at home going off-road or transporting you to exclusive events. It meets your discerning expectations, and does it with style and substance.”

CGS Performance Products’ take on Explorer shows off what a luxury vehicle for an active customer looks like. The look runs throughout the monochromatic silver Explorer, and is completed by two carbon fiber mountain bikes on the roof rack.

“This SUV is all about outdoor adventure and doing it in comfort,” said Casey Scranton, president, CGS Performance Products. “This customer can use the vehicle every day and will have no problem taking it camping or kayaking on the weekends.”

The luxury details are evident in the built-in video screens in the headrests, 22-inch silver wheels and the complete custom leather interior that’s designed to resemble the links on a watch band. A CGS cat-back exhaust provides more power, a throatier sound, and even improved fuel economy.

The Taurus SHOx by Rick Bottom Designs gives striking looks a new meaning with a blue paint scheme with contrasting graphics, ground effects kit and custom hood, grille and spoiler. The interior offers a custom rear console with interchangeable inserts and a 10.4-inch flip-down monitor, along with an audio system with 16,000 watts of power.

2011 Ford Taurus SHO by H&R Springs
Tuned by H&R Springs, this Taurus SHO offers a Borla cat-back exhaust and K&N air filter to liven up engine performance. H&R Sport Springs have been installed, and three-piece 22-inch wheels painted in a white gold color complement the white platinum SHO. The exterior is set apart with color-matched lower body panels, custom European hood vents and subtle gray mist graphics.

2011 Ford Edge by K-Daddyz Kustomz

In case the new 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 isn’t enough to satisfy your craving for speed, Carroll Shelby’s Shelby American tuning shop will now offer an aftermarket Super Snake tuning package that will deliver up to 800-hp. That’s right, because the 550-hp machine isn’t enough already.

The Super Snake kit will include a 6-speed manual transmission with 3.73:1 axle ratio, a Ford Racing handling pack, (or optional Shelby/Eibach package), Baer brakes, 20-inch wheels, a Borla exhaust and lots of unique badging etc. Under the hood, the standard package will include a 660-hp Shelby/Ford Racing supercharger. Shelby American, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (CSBI:PK), will offer a Super Snake post title package for the 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 with new styling cues and an optional 800 horsepower tuned engine. Only 1,000 total Super Snake packages for the 2011 model year car will be built at the Shelby American facility in Las Vegas or one of the official Shelby Mod Shops, beginning in September of this year.

“Ford Motor Company did a marvelous job making the 2011 model year GT500 lighter and more powerful,” said John Luft, president of Shelby American. “Our team applied its experience building Super Snakes over the past several years to offer a package that dramatically increases the new car’s capabilities. And with the visual changes we’ve made, it will be a definite stand out on the road or track.”

Just like the 2011 Shelby GT350, born on the proving grounds of the drag strip and road course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Shelby American worked with companies like Ford Racing to create an even more aggressive suspension and engine package for the 2011 Super Snake.

“We extensively tested our mods for the 2011 model car before we decided the package was ready for the public,” added Gary Davis, vice president of production and R&D at Shelby American. “For those who want more performance than the stock GT500 offers, the Super Snake will definitely meet their expectations.”

For the 2011 model year, more power, a new anthracite wheel, white stripes and new side scoops are optional.

“We’ve only offered black stripes and chrome wheels on the Super Snake since we introduced the package a couple of years ago,” added Davis. “With the serious advancements made to the 2011 model year, it was time to differentiate it from the previous generation car. So we added an 800 horsepower tune, optional wheel, side scoop and stripes to make it easy to spot the new Shelby Super Snake.”

So you’ve gotten yourself a 2010 Ford Mustang and the 2011 Ford Mustang has been announced and you’re a little… disappointed. Your first thoughts are to trade in your 2010, but then you realize it’s not a wise investment. Your second thought is to hit the Internet to scour the web to make your 2010 Mustang cooler than ever before. Well, it’s a good thing Cervini’s has your back and at this year’s SEMA show they’ll be showing off their Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (aka Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds) styled body kit for the 2010 Ford Mustang.

It’s a shame the kit won’t come with an Angelina Jolie replica, but for the right price you’ll be getting yourself a urethane hood, front bumper, side skirts, side scoops, rear valence, spoiler, front billet grills, fog lights and a side-exit exhaust system. It may be a little over the top for some Mustang owners looking for something conservative, but we’ve gotta say, it’s pretty cool that Cervini not only manufactures the kit in high quality urethane, but found a way to blend the nostalgic Shelby styling to the new-age Ford Mustang.

No pricing has been released yet and only the hood and side scoops are available for purchase now. But Cervini has stated that the full kit will be available to the general public within two months.

We’re probably missing something here, but clearly there’s a higher demand for armored vehicles than we ever thought. First was the Jaguar XJ Sentinel, that we just had to poke a little bit of fun at, and now Hennessey has gotten their hands dirty by armor-plating their modified Raptor and even adding the APV designation to the model name further reinforcing that this won’t be Hennessey’s only armor-plated vehicle.

The current render that we’re staring at (done by none other than Jon Sibal) is their Hennessey VelociRaptor APV which is based off of a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor SuperCrew. The rear has been modified to accommodate additional passengers in complete comfort and security.

This particular Raptor has been outfitted with Hennessey’s 6.2L supercharged V8 that puts out 575-hp. And while we have to question just who needs to have an armored SUV packing close to 600-hp, we’re glad Hennessey offers the non-armored version too.

We can’t wait to see the other variations of APV vehicles they’ll be working on. The future list looks to include vehicles from Nissan, Jeep, Land Rover and Land Cruiser.

Carroll Shelby, meet Brett Favre. Brett Favre, meet Carroll Shelby. Something tells us that no matter how much Shelby wants to believe he’s going to retire and stop building complete cars, it’ll be a while until we see the last of him and his awesome creations.

The newest to hit the rumor mill is Shelby’s idea of a new generation GT500 sporting a twin-turbo setup and pushing out over 1000-hp. And it won’t come cheap, at a proposed price of $100,000. At the heart of it all will be Shelby’s in-house developed 5.4L V8 paired to a six-speed transmission.

Packing over 1,000-hp normally means this vehicle will be setup to be used on the track more so than the street. So beefy brakes from Shelby/Baer (sporting six-piston calipers) and a 10-point roll cage would just be the bare necessities. Ford Racing suspension and drag axles along with safety loops on the driveshaft setup the car to be a real track bruiser.

It’s also mentioned that the GT500 might sport a dual fuel system to accompany race fuel. And on the outside it’ll sport a custom widebody kit with 20-inch Alcoa wheels. There aren’t any plans of gutting the interior either, leather seats and a premium stereo system will still have a home.

We find it hard to believe with all the new toys at Shelby’s disposal now that he’d find a way to retire. And much like good ‘ol Favre we’ll expect a lot of back and forth indecisiveness and at the end of the day, great creations will still come.

The all new 2011 Ford Mustang is already receiving plenty of praise and acclaim out there on the market, bringing performance and style at an affordable price. And Ford has taken some notes at other successful manufacturers out there by looking to unleash several special edition Ford Mustangs to the public. One of these has recently been revealed as the DUB Edition Package.

Surprisingly, the DUB Edition Ford Mustang V6 package isn’t overinflated in terms of pricing with an MSRP of $3,599.00. Considering all that you’re getting with the package, we think it’s a pretty good deal – that is, if you’re a fan “urban” Mustangs. On the outside, Roush aero components are subtle, but clean while a Ford accessories hood scoop makes the Mustang more aggressive. The stripe package we could do without, but the lowered stance (thanks to springs) and 3.31 gears are welcomed changes in the performance department. Rounding off the exterior is a set of 20-inch TIS wheels wrapped with Pirelli tires. Not exactly our cup of tea, but we guess they could have done much worse. We’re more curious as to whether or not they’ll offer color choices of if they’ll only be available with a black lip for the DUB edition. And it’s worth mentioning that the interior receives DUB-embroidered headrests, just to reiterate what you spent your hard-earned money on.

Apparently 1,000 of these limited edition packages will be available through 2012 and DUB is already looking towards coming up with a package for the V8 Mustang. If you’re interested, they’ll be available at Ford dealers starting next week.

Ford and Roush go together like peanut butter and jelly. You can have one without another, but it’s just not the same. Ford’s new 2011 Mustang 5.0 has already been getting tons of acclaim and now Roush will be taking it to a whole new level in performance. For a retail price of $5,999.00, your 2011 Mustang can have upwards of 550-hp and 470 ft-lbs of torque!

The Roushcharger Tuner Kit (part # 421140) is based on the popular TVS2300 Roushcharger and comes with a 90mm pulley that puts out approximate seven pounds of boost. To ensure the forced inducted 5.0L stays healthy, 47 lb fuel injectors, high-flow fuel rails, high-flow Roush air land and a twin 60mm throttle body are also included in the kit.

And those wondering about reliability and warranty, Roush offers a 90-day parts warranty but notes that it will not maintain the factory Ford warranty. Those willing to wait until fall, Roush will be releasing a kit that will come with full tuning and warranty.

Included in the kit are 47 lb. fuel injectors, high-flow fuel rails, a high-flow ROUSH air lid, and a twin 60mm throttle body. The heavy-duty ROUSH tensioner is included for the first FEAD belt.

This Tuner Kit includes a 90-day parts warranty, but does not come with a calibration or maintain the Ford factory engine warranty. Professional tuning and installation is recommended.

The Ford Focus RS craze over in Europe is picking up a lot of steam, and British tuner BBR is offering four different upgrade kits for any Focus RS enthusiast. The kits bump up horsepower to anywhere from 342-hp to 404-hp depending on how much you’re willing to spend.

The stage one kit is simply an ECU remap and air intake hose offered at $945, which is a great price considering the bump in horsepower to 342-hp and 369 ft-lbs of torque from the factory 300-hp and 325 ft-lbs of torque.

Stage two isn’t as drastic of an increase, but certainly optimizes air flow and reliability out of the turbocharged motor. An upgraded intercooler along with hoses and air filter brings the horsepower figure to 355-hp and torque to 378 ft-lbs. It comes at a price tag of $2,285 but includes installation.

Stage three adds a 3-inch exhaust system from BBR and larger fuel injectors to support the higher boost from the ECU remap. This is when things get fun with the Focus RS reaching 382-hp and 388 ft-lbs of torque. Cost on the parts is roughly $3,960 with install running around $550.

And for those that just have to have it all, the fourth package includes new turbochargers to bring horsepower to 404-hp and 408 ft-lbs of torque. We’ll be comfortable to say that sets the Focus RS up for even more potential if the owner wanted to go even further with the upgraded turbos. That kit will set you back close to $6,185 while install is a respectable $945.

If you want to back up the performance with some handling, BBR also offers BBR/Koni adjustable shocks mated to performance springs.

LEGENDARY TUNER BBR RELEASES PERFORMANCE CONVERSION PORTFOLIO FOR FORD FOCUS RS MK2

BBR is proud to announce a new range of performance conversions for the mighty 300 bhp Ford Focus RS MK2. BBR’s upgrades reflect its 20 years experience with Ford tuning and are available in four very distinct power levels, with an accompanying suspension upgrade package to optimise the car’s dynamic abilities.

After 18 months of meticulous testing and development, BBR is confident no other Ford tuning company worldwide has a more complete track, road and dyno tested range of conversions for the Focus RS MK2.

Phase One BBR StarChip Software upgrade

The entry level upgrade transforms the performance and driveability of the Focus RS via an ECU remap. Use of BBR’s StarChip software affords an extremely linear throttle pedal / turbo boost map, resulting in a considerably smoother driving experience than offered by the factory ECU settings. With a huge improvement in throttle response, the mid range torque and peak horsepower are substantially enhanced, with no visibly obvious mechanical changes.

Phase One Conversion includes:

Custom Mapped BBR Star Chip – With careful calibration of the standard Focus RS MK2 ECU, fuel, ignition, torque, airflow and boost requirements are carefully re-mapped for all conditions, making this conversion a worthy level one addition to our range. BBR is confident that this ECU remap represents the finest blend of drivable performance for track and road.

Silicone induction hose – During testing under full load BBR has found the original air intake hose distorting, causing an airflow restriction. Replacement of this hose is essential to release the full performance of the Phase One conversion.

Phase Two BBR RS355

BBR’s Phase Two upgrade replaces the RS MK2′s standard inefficient intercooler with BBR’s own high flow unit. All inlet air box hoses to and from the air-box and to the RS’s turbocharger unit are replaced with high flow, silicon versions, removing inlet air flow restrictions in the process.

In conjunction with the replacement inlet hose kit, BBR installs a custom mapped BBR Star Chip to extract the maximum safe power from the original RS MK2′s fuel system, without any gains in inlet temperature, or the very important ‘air fuel ratio’ going weak. The stock paper element air filter is also replaced with a high flow performance unit.

In addition to the Phase One upgrade, the Phase Two Conversion includes:

BBR spec High flow intercooler – Finished in gloss black, the BBR intercooler sits discretely behind the Focus RS MK2′s aggressive front grill, utilizing the full width of the aperture. This highly efficient inlet core allows BBR to manage inlet air temperatures easily, helping to optimise performance at higher boost levels.

High Flow inlet hose set – A complete set of high flow replacement hoses are included, removing manufacturer’s inherent flow restrictions and allowing greater flow from the turbocharger.

High flow filter – BBR specifies a drop in performance air filter which improves throttle response and comes with a million mile warranty.

Phase Three BBR RS380

The BBR Phase Three conversion extracts the maximum safe power from the original Focus RS MK2′s turbo unit. In addition to components used in the BBR phase two upgrade, the complete exhaust system is replaced with a BBR 3″ stainless steel exhaust that includes a sports catalyst (retaining emissions legality.)

As part of the Phase Three conversion BBR also modifies the Focus RS MK2′s fuel system to cope with the higher demands required at this boost/power level, using larger fuel injectors. BBR’s Star Chip ECU software is then carefully calibrated in parallel with the larger fuel injectors to ensure no loss in drivability or fuel consumption penalty.

In addition to the Phase Two upgrade, the Phase Three Conversion includes:

A BBR spec Turbo back high flow exhaust with sports cat – a complete system including sports catalyst, highest quality aircraft grade stainless steel finished with Twin 4″ tail pipes that sit perfectly within the Focus RS MK2′s original bumper aperture.

BBR spec high flow fuel injectors – Drop in replacement fuel injectors, with careful BBR Star Chip software calibration, BBR injectors are optimised for this power level.

Phase Four BBR RS400

The highest level of BBR Focus RS Mk2 conversion is for those customers looking for a genuine 400bhp upgrade. As part of the BBR Phase Four upgrade, the RS original turbocharger is replaced with our higher flow motorsport spec item and further modifications are made to the fuel system. This conversion delivers true supercar performance from the Ford Focus RS Mk2.

In addition to Phase Three upgrade, the Phase Four Conversion includes:

BBR specification high flow fuel pump – The BBR high flow fuel pump directly replaces the stock item, as the fuel flow required at this level surpasses that available from the OEM Ford unit.

BBR Hybrid turbo charger – This is a fully overhauled unit, with extensive modifications including; All bearings and seals replaced, a CNC re-profiled compressor cover, a billet motorsport 360° thrust bearing and thrust washers, a billet larger diameter inlet compressor wheel,cutback turbine wheel, central core rotational housing balanced to motorsport spec, ported and flowed compressor cover, turbine housing and wastegate valve.

BBR has been busy developing its own high performance springs, and along with well known suspension specialists Koni, its own BBR/Koni adjustable dampers. BBR has discovered that the standard Focus RS suspension is extremely harsh and uncomfortable for every day. Fed up with RS hash ride of the original set up, BBR has produced a highly effective suspension solution.

Back towards the end of May, we were teased with renders of a 1969 Ford Mustang that Vaughn Gittin Jr. would be building for SEMA 2010. Now the RTR-X is taking clear form and Speedhunters.com has revealed even more photos of the build. We have to say we’re quite impressed and can’t wait to see the finished project. This is undoubtedly one of the coolest cars we’ll set our eyes on… ever.

Almost all of the chassis work has been done on the car, and it’s on the ground and rolling, looking absolutely killer. Steen Chassis has done a fantastic job executing the project from bottom-up and the custom metal work is of impeccable quality.

The car is now off to Twins Turbo for all of the finishing touches and StitchCraft Interiors have already met with Gittin Jr. himself to go over the interior modifications. The post reveals the widebody being fitted on and it looks like they’ve got quite a bit to go in the engine bay.

We have to applaud the team in executing the project in a timely fashion. SEMA is still a couple of months away, but for anyone that has ever been involved with a build for SEMA, two months is not a lot of time. Given the level of detail and quality that is being put into this RTR-X, we expect them to finish without a single flaw and the car to be a true masterpiece once it touches ground on the show floor. This will be at the top of our list when we head over to SEMA to check out in person!

The Universal Technical Institute (UTI) has teamed up with Tjin Edition to design a one-of-a-kind 2011 Ford Fiesta that will debut at SEMA 2010. Best of all, the Ford Fiesta will be built as a giveaway in a sweepstakes that opens up on November 2nd, 2010, the first day of SEMA.

Not many details have been revealed about the project, but given Tjin Edition’s past history we’re anticipating that it’ll be a killer car. Prior to be given away, it’ll tour numerous UTI campuses and other automotive events, showing off what can be done with a little creativity and experience.

Several partners are already on board with the project giving us a good idea of what the car will look like. Peeking underneath the car cover in the render is clearly a site of wheels from FIVE:AD with Air Lift Suspension ensuring the car has the profile it needs no matter the situation. Baer brakes will be peeking between the spokes while Yokohama tires will be wrapping the wheels. Exterior goodies will be coming from DuPont paint, 3dCarbon and StreetGlow while interior will receive goods from Trent’s Trick Upholstery, Autometer, Status Racing, Image Dynamics and Scosche. Performance looks to be contributed by MagnaFlow, SPEC and Nitrous Express.
