Undoubtedly, the big news coming from Aston Martin this year will be the release of its new Vanquish model this fall. The British automaker plans to add some of its Vanquish technology to other models, but no real big changes will come from its lineup for the 2013 model year.

The final factory-built Aston Martin One-77 is available for sale and is one of five to eight One-77s that made it to the United States. The exotic One-77 only had a total production of just 77 units and could be yours for around $1,850,000.

Strangely enough though, despite it being the last One-77 to be produced, its actually not numbered as the last. Since the first and last vehicles of a numbered, limited run are often the most sought after, they were sold first leaving the actual last vehicle’s number a mystery.

The One-77 in its own rights is the ultimate supercar from the British automaker, packing a 7.3L V12 powerplant with 700-hp mated to a six-speed sequential transmission. It’s also built on a lightweight but strong carbon fiber monocoque. So if you’ve considering getting your hands one one of these collectibles, better act fast. The last one is surely not going to be available for long despite its extravagant price tag.

Aston Martin will be teaming up with Galpin Aston Martin of California to show off the final pre-production engineering development One-77 at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. This special One-77 has covered 14,000-miles including endurance testing at Nardo in Italy and the infamous Nurburgring in Germany.

Spectators to this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show will be able to check out the 7.3L V12-powered exotic in person, but unfortunately won’t get to experience the 750-hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. But we’ll all be able to admire the handcrafted aluminum body and full carbon fiber monocoque chassis.

Keep in mind that the One-77 that will be on display isn’t a final production model, and the car that will be for sale may be slightly different.

Aston Martin has officially confirmed the American debut of the One-77 and V12 Zagato, which will take place during the Pebble Beach automotive week in Monterey from August 17th to the 21st. The British automaker will commence the celebration on the evening of Wednesday August 17 where the V12 Zagato will have its official American debut.

The V12 Zagato was first unveiled as a concept car at the famous Villa D’Este Concours in Italy earlier this year, where the car experienced tremendous success among the show goers, and won the award for Design in the Concepts and Prototypes class. Aston Martin will build the V12 Zagato in a very limited production which will commence in the summer of 2012.

As for the One-77, it was on display in the Monterey area several years ago, but as a concept. Now the flagship Aston Martin will get a more official unveiling, boasting a 7.3-liter V12 engine with over 700-hp.

Julian Jenkins, Vice President Aston Martin the Americas said, ”We are very excited about the program this year including the debut of the V12 Zagato, and we look forward to welcoming current owners, new customers and automotive enthusiasts to share our celebrations at The Aston Martin Estate.”

AutoGuide will be on hand, so look for live pictures and video late next week.

The $1.6-million Aston Martin One-77 is the fastest and the most powerful production car ever made by the luxury sportscar brand. With just 77 units planned to be produced (hence the name, One-77), it is also quite rare.

So imagine our surprise when we stumbled upon the website for Alain Class Motors, an exotic car dealership in Dubai, U.A.E., who has not one, but two brand new examples of the One-77.

The ad is not a hoax either. This is not some dealer using file photos from the manufacturer to lure people and collect deposits for the possibility of ordering the car. No, this dealer has both of these cars (and plenty of other exotic machinery) sitting in the showroom.

Have your pick from either the white example with the red interior, or the more James Bond-esque gun metal grey with a white interior. Both examples have just delivery miles on them.

The One-77 uses a 7.3-liter, V12 motor that produces 750-hp. Power is sent to the rear-wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters. It can cover the sprint from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and will keep going all the way to 225 mph.

So if you haven’t been hurt by the world’s financial meltdown and you don’t want to order and wait for your car to get built, these two can be had right away. We surely would, if only we could.

The biggest downfall to checking out photos of a car is not being able to revel in the note of its engine. Aston Martin‘s One-77 certainly looks the part of a supercar, and its specs leave even the most hardcore car enthusiast salivating.

While very few of us will ever get to experience the One-77 hands-on, Aston Martin has released a video so that the majority of us will at least get to experience the beautiful and intoxicating note that the 7.3L V12 emits.

The British luxury car manufacturer released a video of the One-77 as it pilots its way through scenic Europe allowing us to enjoy the sights and the sounds. Watch as the exotic spins its 20-inch wheels through winding roads, sharing with the world its unique exhaust note and proving that the One-77 sounds just as amazing as anyone could have imagined.

Check out the video after the break.

One of the rarest supercars on the planet is the Aston Martin One-77. As the name suggests, only 77 examples of this 7.3-liter, V12 exotic will be made, making it one of the most sought after cars in the world.

It is also seriously fast. Thanks to its 750-hp motor, the One-77 can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, and top out at 227-mph, not that you should try that on any road in North America.

In the Middle-East, it’s a different matter, since some of their roads have no limits, and that is where we find a used One-77 up for grabs.

Perhaps used is the wrong word, because this gorgeous white on red example has only delivery miles on the odometer. While the dealer has not listed any asking price on his website, but since Aston Martin charges $1.5-million for one, you can imagine this one won’t be going for much less than that.

The Test Drive video game/driving simulator series is quite possibly one of the oldest out there. Yes, long before Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport even existed; hell long before the original Playstation or Xbox were out there was Test Drive. It may not carry the same prestige as our console counterparts, but Test Drive Unlimited 2 is promising to deliver some groundbreaking virtual driving experiences.

So much like Mercedes-Benz is offering enthusiasts the ability to drive an SLS AMG virtually and in real life, the folks at Atari and Eden Games would like to get you behind the wheel of the Aston Martin One-77 supercar. But being the ultimate sports car from Aston Martin and a limited production of just 77, you’ll likely just have to settle for the virtual experience.

A trailer highlighting the Aston Martin One-77 in the upcoming Test Drive Unlimited 2 video game has just been released. It may not be the exact thrill we really want, but I guess we have to take what we can get. Besides, there’s probably a much better chance Test Drive Unlimited 2 comes out when they say it will in September of 2010.

Spy photographers have recently snapped several crystal clear shots of Aston Martin‘s new One-77 supercar testing at the Nürburgring. There’s not a lot new to see here as the car has already been shown several times already, but it certainly looks impressive in its copper paint scheme and black wheels.

It’s not clear if Aston is just doing some least-minute testing on the suspension, or perhaps its aiming to set a new production car record at the track. On paper the One-77 certainly has what it takes to set a lap record with a 750-hp 7.3-liter V12 engine, a completely carbon fiber chassis and an innovative suspension setup.

With just 77 models being built, however, all that performance will cost you. The list price for the wildest Aston ever made is roughly $1.7 million.

Check out our up-close gallery below or hit the link to see more shots of the One-77 on track at the Nürburgring.

Aston Martin has just released a teaser video of its upcoming One-77 supercar track testing. It’s not overly exciting, but you do get to hear the big V12 roar quite a bit, which is worth a watch.

The One-77 is still undergoing final development before it goes on sale later this year, with just 77 units to be made at a cost of roughly $2 million. Along with all that exclusivity, buyers are also paying the big bucks to get a full carbon fiber monocoque chassis (like a full race car, or the McLaren MP4-12C and Lexus LFA), as well as a 7.3-liter v12 that makes an incredible 750-hp. In recent testing, Aston Martin was able to achieve a to speed of 220 mph.

Aston Martin is preparing to launch the One-77, its first ever supercar, next year and the British automaker is so impressed with the car’s initial performance that it sent out a press release to give an update on the project. Just this week the 7.3-liter V12-powered monster began high speed testing at “a top secret proving ground in southern Europe.”

During the first set of runs, the One-77 not only managed 200-mph, but blew past it to record a speed of 220.007 mph. That’s 354.86 km/h in Euro (or Canadian) speak.

Aston has said it will continue testing and its likely the new supercar will exceed the 220-mph mark. Helping it achieve those impressive numbers is an engine rated at around 750-hp, as well as special air ducts at the front of the car that close off at speed to reduce lift.

We’re even more excited to see what the One-77 might be able to do on Germany’s famed Nürburgring, as the combination of power and the One-77′s light weight carbon fiber monocoque chassis (like the one in the McLaren MP4-12C or Lexus LFA) should give it a huge advantage over standard street cars.

As the name suggests, just 77 versions of the car will be built with an asking price of close to $2 million.

After its world debut at the Geneva Auto Show last March, Aston Martin has kept its One-77 supercar under wraps, until now. Making its U.S. debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, we had a chance to get more familiar with the car at a private event the night before.

When Aston first announced that this flagship supercar would have  carbon chassis and an aluminum body we thought perhaps the PR folks had reversed the order of what they meant to say. But they didn’t.

Feeling like a pure-bred track car, the carbon chassis is exposed as soon as you open the door with carbon side sills and carbon floors. In fact, the driver sits surrounded by the light-weight material. The carbon fiber monocoque, as it’s called, is the same sort of carbon frame used in a Formula 1 car. Aston Martin has combined this high-technology chassis with traditional coachbuilding practices including hand-rolling the aluminum body panels. All this light weight material helped to keep the supercar’s weight down to just 3,300 lbs.

Significant attention was paid to the vehicle’s aerodynamics, and one of Aston’s product experts let us in on an interesting bit of technology found just behind the front fender. Air ducts found there will actually close mechanically at high speeds (around 150 mph) to help reduce lift. Along with a subtle front splitter and massive rear diffuser, the One-77 will gets hidden rear spoiler that pops up at speeds above 100mph.

The motorsorts technology continues elsewhere in the One-77 with a suspension setup similar to a true race car, with horizontal shocks, as opposed to vertical ones. Aston even designed the rear of the car so this setup is visible through the rear glass.

Amazingly, while the One-77 doesn’t look excessively large, it is actually 2 meters wide (5.56 feet). That is wider than a Lamborghini Murciélago!

Additional racing technology can be found under the hood, where a 7.3-liter V12 engine, topped off with carbon fiber intake manifolds, makes an incredible 750hp.

As the name suggests, just 77 versions of the One-77 will be hand built at a cost of $1.8 million.

Aston Martin One-77 Wins Prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award at Villa d’Este

First completed vehicle makes debut at world-renowned concours in Italy

Aston Martin unveiled a completed version of its One-77 supercar at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este over the weekend and those lucky enough to be there were not disappointed. The car was entered into the design contest for concept cars and prototypes and it easily took the top prize, the Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award, with more than 30 percent of the total votes.

“Embodying everything Aston Martin stands for; the One-77 has proven itself as the most desirable automotive art form at its premiere today,” said Aston CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez. “We have achieved a new level of design and craftsmanship which has been clearly recognised by the public here in the homeland of design at Villa d’Este.”

Aston’s Design Director, Marek Reichman was equally enthusiastic, proclaiming that, “To win this award at its first showing is a testament to the Aston Martin team and the original concept. Winning here today has proven One-77 as a benchmark in automotive design.”

As this was the first time the One-77 was show in full, it also marked the first time the hand-crafted interior had been seen by anyone outside the company.
