Stylish and Powerful for its Day
The 2004 model year saw the introduction of an unofficial third-generation Acura TL. Although this was the first time just the TL moniker was used on an Acura model, two previous generations of mid-size luxury sedans used the letters TL after a set of numbers designating the engine.
2012 - 2014 Toyota Prius Used Car Review
The Prius V joined the expanding Prius lineup in 2011 as a 2012 model. For the North American market the “V” is basically a wagon version of the regular Prius. In other markets the Prius V is sold as a three-row multi-person vehicle, which means all versions worldwide include second row seating set on adjustable rails. This cargo flexibility combined with 50 percent more interior volume compared to the regular Prius gives the Prius V a sizable utility advantage.
Power for the Prius V comes from the same 1.8-liter Atkinson cycle four-engine gasoline engine paired to an electric motor as found in the regular Prius. Total system power is rated at 134 hp which is adequate for the 3,274 lbs. hybrid wagon. Since its introduction in 2011, not much has changed for the Prius V other than minor shuffling of the features available in each trim package.

We all know the economy is struggling; the stock market may be up but many Americans are still toughing it out, so it’s no surprise that a lot of people are unable to afford new vehicles.
To Frugality and Beyond!
Fuel economy is a major purchase consideration for new-vehicle shoppers; in fact it’s the No. 1 thing they look for in a car or truck. Consumers continue to demand ever greater mileage, and so does the federal government. Washington keeps turning up the wick on its Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) regulations. In response to these stimuli automakers are working day and night to improve the efficiency of their products.

Of course not everyone is in the market for a shiny new ride. Many people opt for a pre-owned vehicle instead. Used cars and trucks can be terrific values, especially when certification programs and extended warranties are factored in. If new-vehicle buyers want better fuel economy it’s a safe bet second-hand shoppers are salivating for it as well. Here’s a list of 10 economy-minded used vehicles that will maximize you MPG. To qualify the cars and trucks listed are at least one generation behind the latest model on the market.
The “redneck” comedian Jeff Foxworthy used to joke about how safe of a driver his grandmother was, but as soon as she got behind the wheel of a rental car, all bets were off. It’s a commonly held belief that motorists abuse borrowed vehicles, taking out pent-up aggression on hired Impalas from Hertz. When it comes to buying a used car are second-hand rentals a smart choice, or something to be avoided like a holiday in North Korea?
Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) is launching an all new pre-paid scheduled maintenance program, adding value to customers of new, used and certified pre-owned Mazda vehicle.
The Mazda Total Advantage Program for new, used and certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Owners program benefits customers and adds value to their purchase by lowering scheduled maintenance costs.
The MTA program is available in one-to-five year increments on both Schedule I and Schedule II maintenance plans for customers of 2007 model year vehicles and newer. This program will ensure customers are receiving the best care for their vehicles with a full-circle service inspection at each visit.
During the most recent rankings of luxury vehicle pre-owned programs by IntelliChoice, Cadillac‘s was rated higher than those from Audi, BMW Mercedes-Benz and Lexus.
In order to stay ahead of the game, GM’s flagship division is re-launching it’s certified pre-owned program, tweaking it to include a more thorough, 172-point vehicle inspection system, a six-year 100,000 mile limited warranty, as well as courtesy transportation for warranty work and 24-hour roadside assistance.
In addition, Cadillac says, it’s adding more competitive pre-owned financing options; for the months of May and June this year it will cover the cost of monthly vehicle payments at rates as low as 1.9 percent for buyers who qualify.
Kurt McNeil, Vice President of Cadillac Sales and Service, said that, “in the luxury market, pre-owned automobiles are often an entry point for new customers to the brand. We want these customers to know that we stand behind the quality of our pre-owned Cadillacs.”
He also added that, “an expanded pool of pre-owned Cadillacs thoroughly inspected by trained professionals will raise the brand’s long-term reputation for quality.”
Come on down to Crazy Nigel’s Used Cars, where we got more used and “pre-owned” Rolls-Royce models than you can shake a stick at! Hiya folks, what’ll it take you to get into this long-wheelbase Ghost? Chauffeur-driven, all city miles, and not a single scratch on its German bull-hide leather!
Rolls-Royce probably won’t hire any late-night infomercial shucksters like that to hawk their six-figure luxoboats. But for those looking to dip their toes into the Roller mystique, the company has introduced an official pre-owned service, called Rolls-Royce Provenance.
Provenance cars get a 24-month warranty, bumper-to-bumper servicing, and 24-hour roadside assistance that we like to think involves a Royal Navy ship-of-the-line and a team of tuxedoed butlers. And like most certified pre-owned programs, each car is inspected and given a full servicing by factory-trained technicians.
Rolls-Royce Provenance cars will only be available through a select number of authorized dealers. If you see a stickered LWB Phantom on a strip mall lot next to a row of 1996 Caravans, you can bet that somebody’s doing it wrong.
