Subaru is taking a different approach to this year’s big game; instead of branding its commercials as Super Bowl commercials, the Japanese automaker instead is celebrating Puppy Bowl Sunday.

In tune with all the other automakers revealing their Super Bowl ads prior to the big game, Hyundai has released a pair of their commercials, one spotlighting the Sonata Turbo and the other on its Genesis sedan. Continue Reading…
The latest company to join in the Super Bowl hype is Toyota, who released a teaser commercial today which previews what we will be seeing between quarters during this year’s biggest NFL matchup.
As the Super Bowl grows closer, so does television’s most prized two hours of advertising, and today Mercedes-Benz released its upcoming commercial for the CLA which will air during the big game.
BMW might be a little bit late to the whole “let’s release our Super Bowl ads before the Super Bowl” party, but they’re making up for it with quantity over quality.
Six short clips were released by BMW and only a pair of them will air during the big game on Sunday, but you’ll probably only see one of them on TV. What commercial you’ll see will be based on your region, with the New York Tri-State area getting an ad highlighting the 3-Series’ heated steering wheel, while the Southern California Los Angeles region will hear about BMW Connected Drive’s ability to read emails.
The additional four clips that BMW produced will be appearing online on streaming sites such as NBC.com, ABC.com and Hulu. All six clips were designed to be playful shorts to support the launch of the new BMW 3-Series Sedan.
“The BMW 3 Series is the global benchmark for a sports sedan,” said Dan Creed, Vice President of Marketing, BMW of North America. “With these shorts, we turn a spotlight on the innovations that make the 3 Series the standard to which others aspire.”

The Super Bowl only comes once and year, and it brings with it a heated advertising race between car companies to try and captivate the huge audience that watches the big game with eye catching commercials. These are AutoGuide’s picks for the 10 best commercials of this year’s Super Bowl in order from worst to best. And lucky you, there are so many this year we actually left the bad ones out.
As though the reveal of the NSX Concept at the Detroit Auto Show didn’t garner enough buzz, Acura is looking to reach an even wider audience by showcasing the new hybrid sports car during this weekend’s Super Bowl. And to help out they’ve employed the help of two of the word’s best known comedians, both of whom just also happen to be well-known car buffs: Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno.
The spot pits the two against each other to be the very first to own the new NSX, which isn’t set to go on sale for another three years.

Adding to Hyundai’s Super Bowl ad lineup, the automaker’s fourth commercial focuses on the Elantra.
Celebrating its 2012 North American Car of the Year victory, the Elantra takes a 30-second “Victory Lap” during the game. The Elantra won the award in January, and what better time than the Super Bowl to celebrate the big win. Instead of a parade, the Elantra takes a victory lap around the neighborhood with a little fanfare (hey, honking your horn can be considered fanfare.)
