***UPDATE*** We now have video of the actual crash, involving the Veyron, after the jump below ***UPDATE***

Oh noes! Any car loving man, woman or child is sure to shed a tear upon seeing the picture above, or watching the video below. Yes, that is a multi-million dollar, 1,000-hp Bugatti Veyron; and not only is it stuck fender-deep in water, but it’s corrosive saltwater no less.

The story that led to the tragic incident involved the Veyron’s owner who was driving to Galveston, Texas on Interstate 45 just south of Omega Bay, when a low flying Pelican caused him to jerk the wheel. The car then got caught in some mud, taking the AWD supercar for a ride and tossing it into a saltwater lagoon. The driver, who declined to give his name, was uninjured. His car, however, wasn’t so lucky. Not only will the salt water damage most everything it touches, but there’s bad news for the engine too as KHOU reported that, “The Veyron’s powerful engine gurgled like an outboard motor for about 15 minutes before it died.”

According to a just-released German police report, a driver died at a Volkswagen test track earlier this week. The man’s name was not released, but the report did say that we was a 42-year-old Brazilian. The accident occurred at VW’s Ehra-Lessien test track near the German automaker’s head offices in Wolfsburg. The track is an extensive facility with many different areas and 60 miles of paved roads, and is the location where Volkswagen’s Bugatti division recorded a top speed run of 253 mph in the Veyron supercar (pictured above).

According to the German police the unnamed test driver lost control of his vehicle during a sudden downpour. He managed to stop it without incident but was then hit by another out-of-control vehicle on the same track. The impact trapped the driver and he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The other driver, a 27-year-old, was taken to Wolfsburg hospital with serious injuries.

The German police and Volkswagen officials are investigating the incident.

Mansory has once again outdone itself, this time modifying a Bugatti Veyron. Alterations have been made in every area, including engine work and the interior.

The supercar will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show in March but pictures of the wild machine were snapped at Prestige MCars Abu Dhabi – Mansory’s Middle-East partner.

On the outside the vehicle gets a significant makeover thanks to plenty of new carbon fiber body panels. Up front new LED light bars were added and the large frot nose of the beast now plays home to a stylized V shape. The V is for Vinceró, the name of this specific range of Mansory modifications for the Veyron. Along with a new carbon fiber hood, the Mansory Veryon also gets a carbon fiber front splitter.

The rear of the vehicle has also been significantly redesigned with two large carbon fiber peices. The engine cover now features larger openings to help keep the Veyron’s engine cool and a new carbon fiber diffuser has been added to reduce lift in the rear of the car.

As mentioned, the Veyron gets a boost in power – all the way up to 1109hp. Torque is also up significantly to 966 ft-lbs.

Mansory even went so far as to design and build a new set of forged aluminum wheels.

As for the interior, well, you just have to see it to beleive it. We’re not sure if they let Spiderman loose in there or what.
