Originally built by the AM General Corporation and made famous by the US Armed Forces and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hummer is a subsidiary of GMC. The original H1 version was based on the military High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV, or Humvee). However, the H2 and the H3 hummers were introduced as a smaller civilian market version.
