Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Ltd. and Tokyo Gas and Electric Industrial Co. cooperatively plan to build automobiles with the technical cooperation of Wolseley Motor Company. In 1922 the first Wolseley model A-9 car was domestically produced. The name Isuzu was adopted in 1949 and is now one of the many subsidiaries of General Motors.
