2009 Lamborghini Cars

Lamborghini, now under the ownership of Volkswagen, sells two supercars, the V10 powered Gallardo and the V12 powered Aventador. Both vehicles look outrageous and offer blistering performance, with price tags to match.

Lamborghini’s founder was convinced that he could build a better car than Enzo Ferrari’s infamous vehicles, but the company has evolved into something beyond a Ferrari clone. Lamborghini has defined itself as an even more over-the-top alternative to Ferrari, with screaming V10 and V12 engines, all-wheel drive, instantly recognizable styling and their trademark swing-up doors on their V12 Aventador supercar. The V10 powered Gallardo uses conventional doors.

Lamborghini Aventador Videos
Unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show, the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is the exotic Italian automaker's new flagship supercar. Replacing the Murcielago, it uses a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and is powered by a 700-hp 6.5-liter V12 engine. Paired with AWD and a new 7-speed ISR single-clutch gearbox, the 3,500 lb exotic can hit 62-mph in just 2.9 seconds. The Aventador is also the first production car to use a racecar-style pushrod suspension.
