2012 Saab Cars

Saab’s survival is at stake right now, with the company teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. Despite hard time, Saab has launched a new 9-4X crossover, 9-5 sedan and continues to sell their 9-3 sedan, station wagon and convertible. Saab’s ambitious plans for a re-launch were scuttled after parent company General Motors’ 2008 bankruptcy, and the company has struggled to find new financial backing ever since.

Saab, one of Sweden’s two automakers, has a long history in pioneering turbocharged engines, and previous products like the 900, 9000 and 9-2X helped the company attract a dedicated fan base of iconoclast owners. Despite Saab’s cult following, much of the market seems to have left Saab behind. Sales of their new 9-5 and 9-4x have been dismal, dealer morale is at an all-time low and customers are few and far between. The tragic and ironic twist is that their new products appear to be their best in a long time, but few are willing to take a chance on an automaker that could go bust at a moment’s notice
