2012 FIAT Cars

Reintroduced back into the North American marketplace in 2011, Fiat currently offers just two models, the 500 mini-car and the 500C convertible, or cabriolet. Fiat has announced plans to offer a high-performance Abarth version of the car in the near future. The parent company of Ferrari, Fiat also owns the Alfa Romeo brand, which it intends to also bring back to North America, initially offering the 4C sports car and a compact crossover.

Founded in 1899 Fiat’s first car was the 3 ½ CV, of which just eight were made. After some troubling times, CEO Sergio Marchionne took control in 2004, turning the Italian automaker around, while forming partnerships with India’s Tata and China’s Cherry, while expanding into new markets like Australia and Mexico. Fiat’s return to the U.S. comes as part of a larger deal where by Fiat rescued Chrysler from bankruptcy and has since taken control of the American automaker.
