Best kept SecretBy Eugene O'Donnell, Jan 30, 2013My wife and I Bought a Kia Sorento in 2005 never had any major problems other than hitting that deer. A week ago we bought a 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid with all options and absolutely love it. You owe it to yourself to test drive the Optima Hybrid or any other Kia vehicle. ...moreTrim 2012 Kia Optima 4dr Sdn 2.4L Auto EX Hybrid

SX - a great, no, totally awsome car...for the money.By steven turner, Aug 29, 2012Yes, the SX delivers in so many ways so competently you'd think you were driving a punchy G37 with an Audi-Saab interior; that is, until you tried to do things the G37 sedan Journey excels at, like, eating twisty roads for breaksfast with it's .85 skidpad, it's fast-ratio steering, it's 328 hp monster NA drivetrain, and its 7600 redline tricked out vvel engine. No, my car starts out that way, with lots of promise, but it cannot compete with the 'real' sport sedans of the world. It has an awesome drivetrain that, if Kia had not neutered 1st and 2nd for jackrabbit starts, would easily get into the low 6's or high 5s - that;s what the slightly less powered 2013 328i is making, so why can't we? Becayse we have been nuetered down there, and it is not pretty. However, from a roll, this drivetrain will pop you in the back like v8 if you hit the right gear and right rpm, it will shoot you like a rocket all the way up to 155 mph!!well, it gets a lot less rockety around 130, but it still leaves top speed the same as most german and Japanese sport sedan competitors. Which says to me, Kia is planning on turning this thing into a 'real'sports sedan in the near future, ot at least make a perhaps 4wd version with wheel-torque vectoring and who know what. But overall, it is great, great car until you get to about 85% of it's capabilities at which point it pointedly tells you that no, I can't do what you are asking over me, and understeers into a treem or just safely scrubs off speed with understeer in the turn with the help of ABS and then just sits, breathing heavy on the dirty embankment like a balky mule. But it is very, very, very good looking (with the pizza rims) but especially in white or (and balanced!!)grey or corsa blue, and it has a tremendous amount of tech to boot - nav, sirius traffic and radio, an awesome infinity sound system with a sub, heated and cooled seats, a very-nice looking interiors, great luminescent gauges, nice silver and faux carbon fiber touches, and lots of nice, soft-touch plastic (up high) and more pedestrian grade (down low). Handling is nice and flat, steering is accurate and quick. Is fast as hell in the 10mph to 110 mph zone, a stomp on the accelerator and the 6-speed transmission finds a why to wind up that speed dial in no time flat. And almost no turbo lag. The only odd thing is that the rebound dampers are little too floaty, while the shock/struts are very stiff, making for an odd combo sometimes. ...moredrivetrain, power, torque, looks, looks, looks, handling, interior, gadgets, nav, build quality, VALUE built USA!
ride can be odd with rebound damping at odds with shock settings, noisy on some roads, steering is numb, and is a little wiggly at highway speedsTrim 2012 Kia Optima 4dr Sdn 2.0T Auto SX
